BG already offer tariffs with standing charges less than the variable rate standing charges.

EPCs are only valid for 10 years and the assessment criteria are likely to become more stringent as time goes on. So an EPC granted say 6 years ago at a ‘C’ rating may in reality be less efficient than one granted at a future date. A better way might be to offer the mortgage with a requirement to carry out the necessary works within a specified time period.

Who opens a savings accounts at 6% that is capped at 150 quid a month for 5 years? Who? LOL What happened to saving accounts where you open it and put what cash you have in it for a headline rate? These savings products are utter garbage and isn't worth the admin... These products are for lunatics..

You may as well spend the money you are trying to save.. if the cap is 150 quid a month, it is likely you are not saving the max cap every month., otherwise they would not cap it at 150? so lets say you putting 30 quid a month vs the 5 years? You may as well spend the money you are trying to save... makes no sense and these products are not worth opening.

I would benefit on my home bills. In summer the standing charge is half of my bill.

@@patmartin9727 No you wouldn't. They only have to offer a tariff with no standing charge. They aren't actually removing standing charges. So they'd just increase the unit price ridiculously high on that tariff to make up for it.
