Standpipe (Casagrande) Piezometer Installation

Summary: The Standpipe Piezometer is a simple, low cost system used in site/slope investigation (vertical boreholes) to monitor piezometric water levels. The Casagrande Standpipe Piezometer tip is packed with sand and followed by bentonite seal to isolate pore water pressure at the filter tip. The remaining of the borehole is then filled with grout-bentonite and backfill. A Water Level Meter is used to monitor the water elevation in the PVC pipe.
