Love you Disasterpeace, just wanted to say it. From Hyper light drifter (wich was my first time hearing your music) to your latest creation, it's always a journey listening to all your album/ost.

Ditto this comment. It's bizarre how much I've listened to things you have created that I feel like we've shared a special conversation despite the likelihood that we'll never meet. I fell in love with Disasterpeace when I first played Fez. Forgotten remains one of my all time favoutire pieces of music. My only wish would be to hear it played on bagpipes one day..... (weirdo confession)

@@Arley42 forgotten is definitely the track that defined my taste for music, it made me buy the album and that was like my first musical purchase ever as a kid. I'm happy to see I'm not alone on the Forgotten wagon. After listening to that track I dived into it follows because of that one track that had a similar sound, eventually stayed for the amazingly nasty sounds, and then I knew I was hooked for life.

Absolutely beautiful and otherworldly, as always and so consistently. Thank you for all the times you have inspired me Disasterpeace. Also thank you for that time you released sheet music for Panacea, one of my favourite songs to play for myself when I need to clear my mind.

I know I don't know you personally, but I want to say thank you for your music, your talent, your heart and your passion, Rich. You probably don't remember, but waaaay back when on 8bitcollective, I sent you my newest chiptune at the time and asked if you wouldn't mind listening and giving me your critiques. You did, at length, and I was overjoyed. Then you commented on 3 more of my older chiptunes, ones that I hadn't sent you. It's really stupid, but it was like having your idol, tell you you weren't dogshit, because you were and honestly still are my idol for chiptune and composition as a whole. Back then, you went out of your way to listen to more of my silly, simple creations, but gave me genuine words of encouragement and praise. I cried many tears of joy that night. I haven't made music in a long time since, mostly because my depression and imposter syndrome completely rob me of any desire or faith that I can still make music. So it makes me so happy, whenever I see new music from you, for either a video game, or a movie or television show. Your success, gives me massive joy. You will always have a fan in greenhousetheory.

Would love to know what your strategy is with noise in your music. The wind and rain noise is so dialed in it really makes the setting for me.
@dzasterpeace7 ай бұрын
definitely put a lot of care into making the music and noise coexist - generally the rain/wind ducks out of the way to make room for music - and for the wind/rain sounds, making sure they’re sufficiently filtered so as not to be too harsh on the ears (hopefully) :)

JFC did there need to be at least one tone or musical phrase in human vocal range, per second? Or an effect that sounds like a sliding door opening? And why do all the creepiest sounds for being alone at night have to play like they're behind me or just outside the edge of my peripheral vision--AND be engineered in such a way that my brain reads them as having originated outside my headphones? Fuck this album. If it seems like I needlessly salty, it's because I put "Standstill" on during an easy, solitary moment and it keeps triggering an adrenal reaction. It's not startling me. It's terrifying me in a way that even after I know it was the song that got me, my body remains in a state of preparedness for an attack from the shadows. If I had giving up on this album sooner, it wouldn't have gotten me a hundred fucking times. It was my listenership on Spotify that caused me to be alerted to the release of album; and my appreciation for this guy's music in the past that encouraged me to keep giving it chances to spook me. Watch me have nightmares for the rest of the week or absentmindedly dismiss the sound of my porch being slid open by a stranger while I'm doing the dishes.
