When I was in law school, we approached the law with reverence and humility bordering on self-flagellation, recognizing how little we knew. To treat any speaker so is horrible, but a judge!? Diversifying for diversity's sake is illogical. Also, whether a diversity is beneficial depends on into what is being diversified, or is meaningful depends on whether it is necessary. For instance, diversification into either marxism-communism (Stalin, Mao) or facism-nazism (Mussolini, Hitler) isn't beneficial given all the human disasters and deaths caused by such systems in their real world experiments. But medical researches on skin cancer should be diversified enough to include major skin colors because pigmentation (melanin) is a known key factor affecting the chance for getting the disease. Such diversity is borne out of scientific (biological) necessity and will make the researches more meaningful and comprehensive.
