Auf dem Stirndeckel gibt es einen Stift zum fixieren der Gleitschienen, die kann man nach außen herausschrauben. Wenn man den vorher rausholt, kann man den Stirndeckel wesentlich besser ansetzen. Nur als tipp. Den Stift im nachhinein natürlich wieder einbauen.

I like the 2.8L and i think it can go to around 550whp on stock, maybe 750 whp with forged rods and more with pistons 🙏🏻

@@yl7277 anytime bro, the benefit it that they can be tighten harder which puts bigger pressure on the headgasket which makes it withstand more power. Also good to reuse because they are studs instead of bolts

Man I am building a Turbo M104 here aswell and I am installing a standalone ECU. Do you happen to know which teeth the trigger wheel is aligned with the #1 cylinder TDC. I have a later model M104 with stock 60-2 trigger wheel here.

Vishnu Vardhan Kalainesan It is of course my opinion that you should do it but there are probably as many people who say its not necessary to do so. But i think it sounds pretty reasonable to retorque it after a heatcycle when the material in the gasket has changed a bit

When rotating the engine after resetting the timing and setting the tensioner, how much force did it take you? I am building a new engine and it feels awfully tight after I set the tensioner. Much tighter than any other engine I have spun over by hand. I am concerned that something is wrong but when I remove the tensioner it spins easy. Any tips? Thanks!

Did u reset the tensioner? Push the actuator through completly and then insert it from the back until the first click?

Yup. Tensioner was brand new as well as the chain and guides. Just measured with a torque wrench and it takes about 70-75nm to spin the engine.

@@drewisweirdTV ok, thats really hard to say.. but no sparkplugs in? Made sure the chain is centered on the guide? (Not on the guide edge? Easy to happen) can u move the chain up and down between the camshafts?

No plugs in, chain is centered and everything is lubricated. I’m going to double check the torque on my camshaft caps to make sure they are not over torqued (borrowing a friends digital torque wrench) but I don’t think that would significantly affect rotating force. There is no play at all in the chain once I set the tensioner.

hi there, this was quite the video i was looking for. now i found a m104 engine, 3.2lt with manual trans, driveshaft and diff for dirt cheap and i was wondering, will this fit into a w208? i was thinking a single turbo, aftermarket ecu and injectors, but everything else stock, like pistons etc. does anyone know how much abuse (safe hp always though) these things can handle stock?

Teo Jeo check out our playlist hammer and spanner episode 6-7 for more info about the engines. I would say 500 whp is pretty safe if you have it tuned well. Dont know if the w208 has front or rear oilsump, my w209 has rear sump so either you buy a rearsump setup or go drysump like i did

Because the tension changes abit after the first heat cycle, thats why we retourqe it to make sure it hasnt lost pressure on the gasket
