It had the perfect mixture between a forward, nationalistic march and a tragedy. While the makeup was pretty extreme, everything else about this movie was remarkable. I love it and have rewatched it with my family several times. It is _very_ accurate and does a remarkable job capturing the atmosphere and feel of Stalin's regime. All of the moments with this music are very powerful, especially at the halfway point and at the ending. It's at once highly personal and an epic about an entire era in history. It's sobering, and surreal to think that this man affected so much of the world for so long, and that all of this really happened.

Russia should be grateful to him for industrialisation, but they never will because of his anti-intellectual extermination, purges, and the fact he was a complete lunatic at the point of power, we like to think Stalin did this all by himself, their were hundreds of people with stalins same mindset, many more just accepted it because they were scared, some did what he asked because they needed the money, whatever reasons, stalin will never be acknowledged by modern day Russia, nor his Soviet Union, for the monstrous history he orchestrated

Very underrated movie and soundtrack. If I were ever to become a psychotic Socialist dictator I would def. choose this as my theme.

A movie full of lies and historical inaccuracies, the peak cinematic achievement of de-Stalinization process. Yet, the Theme of it was excellent.

This tune perfectly catches the grimness, darkness and EVIL of one of history's greatest Monster oft all time... chills running down my spine everytime I hear it, like being sendt to the deathly tundra of Siberian gulag.

@ivoe1574 He was comrades in arms with Stalin. There was ‘no better man’ for the position. He had good administrative skills. You’ve never seen any primary source evidence of Stalin. Just stupid cliches.
