This is like, the peak evolution of music. Was one of the best nights of my life, how lucky I am to have witnessed this man live.

One of the best comments I read, I was in Manchester this week, for the last 10 years wanted to see him live.

The two most important British musicians right now. Keeping it real and making pure art with excellence and personality. It's complicated yet fun to listen to. It encompasses yet doesn't have to be full of hooks or in your face. It's proper music.

Saxophone player absolutely steals this one. His wild melodies alongside the keyboard chords were perfection, meandering and mysterious. So so beautiful. Reminded me of how Ed always finds the most heartbreaking and beautiful parts to accompany Thom's main melodies. Hope he gets more air-time on record 3!

Thanks for sharing this. Went to the show and it was truly outstanding with this being one of big stand outs. A real spine tinkling few minutes.

I do really love this song but is it me, or is this version ridiculously fast paced. Needs stretching out a bit more. Feels rushed

it probably sounded ten times better live. that's usually how it is with these "unofficial" concert recording :)

@@himmelektronikNot really, a speed doesn’t change whether it’s a video or live. Anyway, the versions I’ve heard since this one have been much better

It's a band of three trying to make music as expansive as a group of five (ahem-Radiohead-ahem) and in a live setting the limitations really show. As much as I love these guys I have yet to be impressed with how they sound live as a trio.
@Alex-mj5dv8 ай бұрын
@@aperturiuswhen you’re a trio you need musicians that can fill lots of space and play two tracks at once almost. Not comparing them in terms of each of their contributions to music.. because TY and JG are creative geniuses in my mind.. but they aren’t virtuosic in their instruments… they play many, mostly serviceably. I wouldn’t see JG launching into Lenny by SRV.. it’s also not his style. And they get the sound they need out of them. Their instruments are a means to a sonic end, rather than the end themselves, for the sake of seeing say.. a great guitarist. But yes it means an album track can sound flat live. As I said - not a direct comparison, TM and JG are geniuses, but John Mayer Trio is a good example of this. Neither Thom or Jonny are guitarists like JM.. they can make otherworldly and wild sounds with it, but they aren’t as pinpoint and as technically sound as John. On Vultures he will play lead and bass, a la Charlie Hunter, Pino covers so much space with the bass .. with Steve rounding it out, 3 sounds like 5, and sounds like a studio recording.

Agreed, although these performances do not come across well on YT .. they are sound wizards

i think thats just the unfortunate downside of such crisp production and unique vocals. definitely not as good but still a wicked live

I was already tearing watching this and then upon rewatching, at the very beginning, I heard Free Palestine 🇵🇸 😭😭😭 is this even real?!
@elkurtz15799 ай бұрын
Many Jewish people are horrified by what's been happening in their name. Also, you're right, a live show is definitely a place to come together, but to forget about "everything else", we risk losing our humanity and blinding our hearts.@BigChungus-xu4wj

@BigChungus-xu4wjRadiohead has always been a political band and Thom was always very outspoken about his beliefs. Jonny’s wife called for the death of Palestinians, but Jonny or Thom havent Said anythiny yet so theyre just neutral. Stop being like this
@DavideDF9 ай бұрын
@BigChungus-xu4wj it's not inappropriate and it's not something against Jewish people. Palestinians are being subjected to genocide as we speak by Zionists, it's them that we are criticizing, not Jewish people. Free Palestine 🇵🇸
