When you are done cooking you can always refill your pan with water and let it boil for a few minutes, then that will make your cleaning 10xs easier.

Very late comment but I just love seeing these Stanley pots I particularly like that you get a clean pour off the pot with no dribbles off the rim. Also very good that you informed everyone they need to strain those leaves!! Always great videos! Thanks

That fry pan does seem to evenly conduct heat, even on an alcohol Burnet. I'm impressed. And as always I learned something new - clothes pins as cup clips for coffee filter. Delightfully amused at that! Had not seen that before😎

I LOVE the idea of mixing the Heet with the 91% alcohol. It never occurred to me to do that. In my experience with the stove I built (after watching your other video---along with others) I found the Heet to burn a tiny bit too hot while the 91% alcohol was not quite hot enough. Another excellent video. Thanks for sharing it.

Was so tickled to see that skillet on your video! Thin bottom skillets have been such a camping pain. That heavy bottom is just the trick I have been waiting for. Bought on today Thanks for your videos.

Very impressed and I wish I could use that. I did make my own stove and it worked well. Unfortunately in Canada which is on fire all summer not permitted. I"m not even sure an esbit is permitted. Definitely going to pursue that cookset further though.

I'm surprised this kit doesn't have more reviews. I use mine all the time. Really like that fact that the plates almost snaps on top of the bowls as lids. Because the handles does get hot on the pot, I've cut my trivet into 2 pieces to use as pot holders.

I've found that a lower chimney on the fancy feast = less soot when burning 91% rubbing alcohol. Won't heat as fast but cleaner.

. On the start of a camping ( Canoe ) trip down the Suwanee River the guys gas stoves fuel canisters sprung a leak when the took the burner off. I cooked the rest of the meals for the three of us on my alcohol stove. Did not have to cancel our 5 day trip. I use denatured alcohol and on solo trips I like to use 153 to 190 proof food grade alcohol. It costs more but is food grade without any of the additives ( poisons ) in it.

Great test! It’s the best video testing the pan I’ve seen. Thx. By the way, how’s it holding up over time? We are a family of four, and I want practical and good quality cookware set. I have been looking at the set w the big pot and this pan, but I prefer the two smaller pots in another kit and this pan. What do you recommend?

Thank you, it's holding up real good! Feel free to look at my stanley playlist and find the base camp cookset. Also check out the newest version. It's 4 liters and heats up very evenly with the thick bottom. Also comes with a bigger fry pan

I have all clad pots and pans that are all stainless steel. Use bar keepers friend to clean the stainless steel pots when they start to show hard water stains or other stains. It will make them look brand new. Do not use it on stainless steel finished appliances though.

I think your eggs are done well and I don’t think there was too much mess in the bottom of the frying pan normally you see eggs get quite burnt if you leave them too long obviously the heat from your stove is not too strong and a little bit more saltier cheese might be better than adding salt Made me feel hungry anyway

Im getting the feeling that you are an extended family member of the Stanley Group .... Skeeter Stanley ... DDDD Other than a little stability, that alcohol flame expanded across the bottom of that fry pan, makes for an excellent heater/cooker. BACONnnnn !!! wheres the baconnnnnn ? Use the mullein for tea, then later you can use the leaf for a wet wipe DDDDD

Why would you use rubbing alcohol? Even mixing it the additives will leave a black sticky residue on the pan that is a pain to remove just because it burns doesn't mean it's a good idea especially since heat and denatured alcohol is readily available just about everywhere.

Ok we all agree..over done eggs..NOW!! Stainless Steel must be seasoned in order to make it non-stick like. Cleaned without using a stiff abrasive pad then a lite coating of oil applied as pan cools. Im sure the purpose of his video was to explicitly to show the heat distribution of this pan.
@frankwigley1596
@frankwigley1596 2 жыл бұрын
Might be safe on a picnic table. But it's not safe when your out camping and cooking on the ground. To dangerous to cook on due to the pan to stove ratio. The heat source needs to be about the same diameter of the pan. 🤔
