Great video. One thing about these old miter saws, no ones ever cut their finger off with one.. I'd love to see a video of this saw on the job doing work

I use mine for baseboards and quarter round when I’m in an upstairs room. Saves up and down stairs All the dust stays at the saw. So no mess is flung in the air like a motored mitersaw would do.

@@thomrider I agree. I carry my little stanley no.150 room to room for shoe molding. It's so much faster than all the walking. Plus on some jobs you are just not allowed to bring a saw in the house once the place is almost finished. We weren't even allowed to wear our shoes, in order to protect the exposed, freshly finished floors.

@@thomrider how do you use it for tall base? If you lay it flat you can't put a miter on it for coping.

pura vida great job i love that you left its original patina and I have one of them and I put a little grease inside both saw guides with that grease I reduce friction from backsaw action. buena nota take care

Enjoyed your video! What type of screws, (thread size, flat or roundhead etc.) were the ten screws you mentioned that hold the wooden board to the platform? Mine are all missing, (i.e. I got it with no board).

Not necessarily requesting a separate video on the topic but I’m curious if you sharpened for crosscut or is it worth all that effort and simpler to sharpen rip on such a large saw with so many teeth. Most cuts on these saws were cleaned up afterwards with a plane anyway. 🙏

This works great in a 3rd floor bedroom cutting trim when you power saw is outside. Very little dust and it has flesh sensing technology. 😎
