Stanley vs Lutec 6290XL 7000 Lumen LED Work Light Review

It was time to pick up a new work light for the shop, so I ordered the following and tested them out.

I was all set to buy a Stanley as compared to the Lutec. Had a hard time finding a KZbin review until I finally came across yours. Contrary to your informal presentation, I found your review quite professional. I especially appreciated your taking light meter measurements, evaluating the light color temperature and just going through every detail and comparing them articulately and accurately. Both advertise 7000 lumens, but you set that straight with the Lutec performing better. I bought the Lutec on Amazon for $95 after a $30 coupon discount from Lutec. BTW: Love your dogs.

Stanley Kosting more I would go with the other one even tho it wieghs more I mean its korded so you are going to be around some heavy grid thing anyways.....I prefer white light over yellow light too. Think I would go with a battery powered version of those lights matching my Power Tool Batteries...... LEDS are DC so they would be more efficent running on DC power vs AC konversation losses....... Its a Work Light I will be moving them all over the plase over life of ownership so even if I have to pay more for a Bare Tool Option for Battery 🔋Powered & Not having to deal with the frustration of an extention kord would be ao worth it....... i've worked under warmer light temperatures and that neutral about 5500 kelvin temperature. I can't stand working under that bright white color, i find myself more productive and also less stressed with the warmer color temperatures. I've replaced all the lights in the garage and around the home for a more warmer temperature at around 4200 to 4500 kelvin lights. You get less light but won't be straining your eyes and will be more comfortable. Also the shadows is less harsh and not as annoying.

Pretty thorough review! Nice insight with regards to even the carry handle design. You do know that both lights are made by Lutec? The Stanley is just a licensed product. The lux meter is only going to read the light intensity at 1 spot, so to accurately compare peak lux values, you would measure the 2 lights at the same distance, but with the white dome at the center of the "hot spot" of each light. If 1 has a higher lux and a smaller hot spot (less spread) it means the optics are of a spot light, throwing "7000 lumens" farther, at a concentrated point, while the lower lux could have a wider spread (flood). I'm not saying these 2 lights are genuinely 7000 lumens (most lumen ratings are BS), but assuming they are at least equal lumen output, this would explain that and is not measurable in 1 lux measurement. Reflectors don't help LEDs; they emit light only in 1 direction (ie, no back/side light to reflect out from a bowl reflector).

Around 19:30 when you switched from the Stanley to the Lutec, it seemed like the Lutec not only had a whiter light hue, but it also seemed like it was quite a bit brighter. Is that the case or are my eyes playing trucks on me?

The Lutec does have a whiter light and is brighter. The wall isn't white, so it shows the color difference very well.
