I know this sounds like I'm just saying this as a fan, but I truly believe that Unpaid Intern doesn't work without you. As Ludwig gets more experience hosting it, Offbrand gets more experience producing it and the contestants hopefully become more familiar with the format having seen previous episodes, maybe someone else could fill the "assistant" role. But I genuinely think that no streamer other than you could have done this for episode one. Don't get me wrong, everyone was great, but the assistant character is the one who has to manage to maintain the structure and the chaos, keeping it a competition but also making sure to be funny, let people try weird stuff and provide room for jokes. It's a really tough balance, and without it - even if the contestants and Ludwig are funny - the show doesn't work. You didn't steal the show from the contestants, which is important, but you had some great moments to shine (a very bright light into your eye) and managed to keep just enough traintracks for the show to work without ever detracting from the fun. You being happy with the show is more important than me, a random person on the internet, complimenting you, but from one Taskmaster fan to another, you did an incredible job, and I am really excited for whatever comes next.

15:47 honestly, the annoying rules and taskmaster sticking to them hard is one of the best parts, I mean think of some of the funniest clips like Joe Wilkinson's potato throw. It also makes the contestants think about the rules, puts more emphasis on their wording and makes them come up with weird solutions and workarounds. And you can't tell me that Schlatt being even angrier, when he realizes he got no points, wouldn't be funny. Just a tiny nitpick for an overall great show, can't wait for more

With the guests only having one episode, I think it makes it extremely harsh to completely disqualify them for something that minor. If it helped them complete the task then fair enough, but for an in-character joke like that I think it's just too punishing for not much payoff. Taskmaster isn't overly strict on the rules in this way either, and when they are it's usually very clearly related to the task. The 'red green' is very significant in every task it's used, whereas in Unpaid Intern, staying seated while filling in a map feels a lot more arbitrary and forgettable. The task in the recent Taskmaster series where they had to come up with their own handicap comes to mind as an example where they were very lenient with the disqualification, and I'm glad, because if they were 100% strict to the letter it would kind of put a damper on everything and punish people for being creative. Disqualification is funny in some cases, but when taken to the extreme then it starts to feel unfair. People are very parasocial about content creators too, I can imagine people getting very annoyed by strict rulings like that when it completely ruins their favourite creator's chances of winning just because they wanted to be entertaining.

​@@Blazik3n99 Honestly, good point with the single episode, it definitely changes both how the show plays out and is perceived as well. At the same time you can see some of that in the episode, like Schlatt being punished for being the earliest of them all, which is something that's just positive for everyone involved in the shoot - and it made for a funny reaction. There doesn't have to be an extreme where they're disqualified, but since the show itself is not very focused on who wins, with an immaterial reward and the arbitrary point system at the end(even more so than the 'og' show), which is a good thing imo. For the second part, yeah, that's true and there's definitely a middleground that they should find but at the same time - the people who stuck to the rules didn't get rewarded for it and that results in the same problem down the road; of course not in this case since the only reason he got up was for comedic relief but what if it was exactly the same but he did spot the map? All in all, I do think more emphasis on the rules would be good - since the main point of the show isn't the actual competition and its integrity, but having a bunch of funny people do weird shit and create clips(in the name of competition). That said, this has been great and we need to give the show some time to figure itself out, I'm sure they'll adjust things here and there until they land on something even better

Ok I’m just gonna say I think if they continue this show for a good while and even possibly multiple seasons it would be a funny bit to periodically bring Schlatt back as a contestant and the reason being something about his “investor dad” just for him to loose each return and at the end say something like my father will be hearing about this and then the final time he “gets a call” from his “dad” berating him for shaking the family or something along those lines.
