Thanks for that info on replying. I kinda do the same thing I do with my posts on Facebook and that is like each one to show I read them all and reply if a question is asked. I honestly have too little time to reply to all but appreciate them and read them even the foreign language ones. . Even the amount of bandwidth I have on this HughesNet Sat dish does not allow for that. I'm afraid. Appreciate any suggestions however cause I do try to make it better little by little. 95% of my social media time is posting and liking the comments and answering comments. My wife, when she was much younger, spent time with her grandmother at fish camp. I miss the traditional smoked salmon, herring eggs & seal grease and dry fish. I've even tried cockels once, but I couldn't develope a taste for those. Watching your fish camp videos makes me want to try it down here, just not in the same volume. Thanks for the videos, Sir. Probably too old a video to ask, but I've seen videos on making rafts in Alaska, but I've never seen exactly how you process them once there. Do you have something to pull the logs out of the water for cutting, or do you sacrifice a blade and cut them all in the water?
@stanzuray5 жыл бұрын
Not sure what you are asking but logs for a raft are used as is without cutting except for a single cut for length . Logs I make into lumber I winch out of water up into my camp and spray down with water to get silt off and them cut up.
@jimf19645 жыл бұрын
Stan Zuray Yeah, that was basically the answer. You have some sort of winch to haul them out of the water so you can cut them. I was just wondering because the logs must be so darn heavy. Especially ones that have spent a week in the water. How the heck would you lift a 30ft log? Like I have a hard time imagining how you would deal with something so large,heavy, and unwieldy way up there without some heavy equipment. Maybe that would be a good video idea, is how you process and what you do with the logs once you get them home? Thanks Stan
@stanzuray5 жыл бұрын
Check out this one. Pulled it up with a small homemade winch. kzbin.info/www/bejne/b6iTZaOmj8mZkKM Got a huge homemade one to pull out the fishwheel kzbin.info/www/bejne/l2GmlKKsiplortk
@RomeoEdward6 жыл бұрын
Never seen that done before Stan. I thought it would rip something its tied to out of the boat. Must be real strong, wood is heavy.
@stanzuray6 жыл бұрын
The boat is a welded one and bridal on back is tied to heavy welded rings on back. Would not try this on a riveted on handled boat as it would rip them off. The rope is the weak link which you want. On my end if it can't pull log you feel a slow stopping of the boat and that's all. If the rope breaks near the log the whole length of the rope can end up flying into your back though
@RomeoEdward6 жыл бұрын
Thanks Stan, that's a tough boat for sure.

Poly rope floats for 1 and the rest is the bridal on the back of the boat. it is short enough to not be able to go down near the prop - it actually keeps it from the prop really. Finally I have wrapped so many things around my prop over the years that I know what to avoid somewhat.
