I was 13-14 years old when this came on my local channel, 10am on Saturday mornings. I couldn't wait to see the next episode. This was about 45 years ago. How time flies...

I was extremely fortunate to be exposed to such a wonderful, massive story. It's fiction, yes, but I took every escape as a young boy that I could. School was another refuge. There were teachers then who took their jobs seriously. There were no smartphones or any of the chaos that characterizes life as we now know it. It's a tragedy that only people a certain age or older know what I'm even talking about. Really.

And I am one of those people who know what you are talking about, I understand it perfectly and agree 💯 100%.

My home life at the time this show was originally broadcast was very turbulent and traumatic. This show was one of the reasons I didn't go completely insane.

Your home had a narcissist inside it. Learn everything you can about narcissists to help you and your loved ones. Myself, I had the same problem at home. My older brother and sister are narcissists. Starbrazers , help me to understand that all people are not the same. And I felt good watching the shows. Chaos, was the normal at my house, myself I just stay quiet and waited to watch the star force. Your to alone.

They used real paint for the film cels. You don't see such craftsmanship today. Everything is CG now. Programmed. Just like this most recent batch.

battle satellites looked like a wave motion gun when it shot at the argo, looks like pee shooter shooting at the comet empire ships.

Sometimes this show was so inconsistent. When the Argo escapes the Battle Satellites fired a huge beam. And then they can't even damage one ship. they are basically orbiting Main guns. they would have easily ripped through those ships.
@rom7672 жыл бұрын
Perhaps. But don't throw the baby out with the bath water. This show was made in the 70s and designed for preteens. Don't lose yourself in the details.

I loved the show. I own it. Just funny is all. like in this clip. the Comet Empire I scientifically advanced society destroys the moon which would throw our gravity and tides into chaos. LOL @@rom767

I noticed that as well...but on the other hand, I also appreciate that they didn't just leave the battle satellites as a continuity plot hole, but addressed what happened to them. I'm not sure it would have made much of a difference in the end, since even the battle satellites @ Ep 04 power levels wouldn't have damaged significantly the main Comet Empire palace once it showed up.

Combat satellites are not equipped with wave engines. It's a normal laser cannon.

Looking back now, I can see the irony of the surrender and the Japanese surrender at the end of wwii
@dennisw81663 жыл бұрын
You mean coincidence? Irony means the opposite of what's expected of something.
@rom7672 жыл бұрын
Never thought of that. There is a parallel, especially considering it's Japanese animation being broadcast in the US

This episode is in wrong aspects ratio...not centered, magnified and cutting off most of the screen
