Under no circumstances should the patch be rolled out in this state. If a large part of the player base is already extremely angry, the mood could completely change due to such a patch.

As long as it moves the ball down the field towards 1.0 I don’t think player happiness is the most important goal. I think 4.0.1 is already much better than 4.0.0 and it’s time to retire the 3.24 builds now.

SAME ISSUES SINCE FOREVER. Enough excuses about development. The business model clearly includes us backers dying of old age.😂😂 Bunker missions- enemies still spawning inside walls/crates. Or not spawning at all. Or spawning infinitely, and it takes forever to kill the “right enemies”. Turrets turn hostile whenever they want. Hauling - Ground base turrets are hostile. Base won’t grant you access to land. Bounty hunting - the target is no where to be found. Quantum- ship leaves you behind, quantum engages but you’re still in normal speed, fuel does not go down at all😂👍 Elevators-gods of death Hangar doors- can’t trust them, are they open? Or invisible. The list goes on and on.

Hangar spawn saved PTU from total uselessness with elevators across Stanton broken. At least you can call up a ship and escape. The power draw went from about 500W to about 275W, thank you CIG !. Looks very promising when the elevators are fixed.

Hauling missions/ freight elevators are not fixed yet, they are still in the "known issues" of the patch notes, I really hope they fix them before pushing 4.0.1 live

My guardian has several Issues, specifically the read entrance steps down and up rather than smooth vertical action. It’s mass physics isn’t working, if you bump it wrong or go under it, it can flip and bounces around

The patches sure are making progress on the bugs. But i havent seen anything about the more basic issues like getting thrown out of quantum when crossing server borders or how short lived the servers seem to be right now. Im actually more interested in that

Bro …it’s not ready for LIVE. you yourself said handyman missions don’t work - they haven’t ever worked, like even in ETF. Box missions in Pyro are 100% broken, and are completely missing in Stanton. Thinking maybe end of next week or the week after with a couple more builds, dependent on if these are removed off the known issues. Also, weekend builds are great because we’ll have more data since the biggest problems now arise from the entity count rising or the replication layer “aging” …causing instability after just a few days after starting fresh.

Terrain deformation isn't in the cards, but control surfaces are, so you could theoretically glide down after your ship's components are shot.

Regression bugs are an important topic that should be discussed. Regression means something that is working in the last build but is broken (new) in the next build. THESE should all be fixed before release, but all other bugs can wait. There is no good reason not to release 4.0.1 with fast-follow releases of 4.0.2 and 4.0.3 etc. as long as there are basically zero bugs that were NOT in 4.0.0 but are in 4.0.1. This would not include new features/locations like the handyman missions that aren’t working right. Those are not release blockers. The only way to do rapid CI/CD development is to follow this pattern. It might not make everyone happy but in the long run it’s what Agile looks like and is in fact the fastest way to get to a 1.0 (MVP) release.

Until I can put gear on my character and not have it randomly disappear 15 minutes later because of inventory pending moves, it's not ready. Your gear for your character is one of the most important parts of the game. How can you do missions if you can't apply gear to your character? Now, if you're simply a sweaty pilot who only dogfights with the expectation of death, its just about paradise level for you. Everyone else who wants to do anything else is kind of SOL.

4.0.1 is nowhere near ready for live imho. There are still so many problems with the missions, from them just not completing, assigning enemy markers to friendlies (bye bye reputation) & spawning AI under the map that you're supposed to kill. Most of the cargo missions are also completely broken as well as a lot of the freight elevators. These have been broken since 3.24 which is literally months! Monox (as you mentioned) is also still nigh on unplayable because of the input lag.... sadly the list goes on and on.

Murder hobo's seem to be some of the worst pilots in the verse which I guess makes sense. I can't complain too much about them though because they did give me one of my most memorable moments of 4.0 so far. Soft deathed my vulture in space, then when I EVA'd they tried to ram me with their F8C and I killed the pilot with a grenade. Smh, I don't really get these players. Anyway, it's great that they are releasing a hotfix but it sounds like the game is still nowhere near live worthy to be honest. Personally I just want them to fix the missions that are in the game and make it relatively stable but apparently even that is too much to ask. As always, just have to go play other games for a few months I guess.

What ship sell is next week? All jokes aside they better not push this patch out. PTU is unplayable and preview is a joke right now if they push this mess out. Still wont fix hangars and elevators, most quests you can't complete which did work before, lag is so bad you explode 2 minutes later from phantom damage from a ship you destroyed. Tried PTU landed at Lori now can't get off planet. If they haven't fixed anything don't think they need to push a patch. IDK maybe it's my jaded opinion but i don't think this game is going to make it many more years and it makes me feel bad for the backers who have spent a lot of money on this demo. It's probably going to be the same oh thing for the next couple years of we fixed nothing and added a bunch more broken stuff now buy ships guys so we can keep laying employees off because we're not making enough money. The 4.0 is unplayable and the 4.0.1 is absolute garbage. Many of the “fixes” they made are still there. I was just out and about in Pyro in 4.0.1 in my C2 Hercules. Now the pinging no longer works, retracting/extending the landing gear only works after pressing the button several times. My left gun only has 2 charges, after that it is empty and only charges when the other 11 shots of the right gun are loaded. And these are just the latest “features” that caught my eye. Yesterday I was mercilessly shot down by a brainless PVP murderhobo even though I had zero cargo. CIG didn't mention the PVP problem in a single word, so they don't care. And now they're seriously starting a new sale? Should I invest more money? My ships are worth $2000, invested over the course of 10 years. No thanks, not a cent more from me.
