To put it into FU perspective, the Freelancer MAX is the space truck, the Starfarer is the space train, the Connie Taurus is the space ship (water, not literal), and the Caterpillar is the space plane.

Starfarer is a tanker. The 900 fu in it is ADDITIONAL cargo room (for non-liquid stuff) inside the body, excluding the giant tanks! The Caterpillar is basicly all cargo over the whole length with other components of the ship tacked on. The Freelancer MAX probably cannot use all the room in the back. You need a corridor free of stuff to reach the turret in the back. In light of this the current stats for cargo on the site seem pretty accurate.

Tactical Advance My understanding was the same as Hans. Why are we 100% wrong? Or "wong" (some inside joke there?) Occam's Razor: The simplest explanation is usually correct. The Starfarer ought to carry way more FU's, we're all in agreement on that point. So, the 900 FU figure is either wrong, or it doesn't include the bulk liquid storage drums tucked into the belly. Seemed to be a reasonable explanation to me, but I'm keeping an open mind.

About those textures, the ship is not suposed to look like that when its brand new. Those textures are for when the ship is worn-out. Look at this video /watch?v=OjcCi6_jTLw , it shows the weathered effects over time. Oh, and btw i think the shower head is not missing, it's just funny looking, i think they whanted to make it futuristic.

The captain doesn't actually fly the ship. The ones in front of him/her are the pilot and the co-pilot and he is behind to give commands and such.

Well i THINK it might be that the Starfarers fuel tanks are not counted yet to CARGO capacity. There is a small freightroom inside the Starfarer additional to the attached fuel tanks.

Oct2018 - Taurus is Hangar Ready. 1900 Cargo Bay Capacity is not displayed in the specifications on the Ship Matrix. All it says is Cargo Capacity (-) being that it is nulled out or undecided by the devs (robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ships/rsi-constellation/Constellation-Taurus). The brochure still says 1900 (robertsspaceindustries.com/media/tpgdg9fw4ww33r/source/Constellation-Taurus-V7.pdf). Freelancer Max is stated to be Cargo Capacity (122) on the Ship Matrix specifications (robertsspaceindustries.com/pledge/ships/misc-freelancer/Freelancer-MAX) with brochure stating (280) Cargo Capacity (robertsspaceindustries.com/media/psa2rz0q320fer/source/Freelancer-Brochure.pdf). There was an article that dropped today that seems to hint that the freelancer's cargo hold will hold very little but that it would be better protected. Here are the lines I'm referring to. "One thing to remember is that the number of freight units isn’t the same thing as the sum value of a ship’s cargo hold. There are many other factors to consider, including how well protected cargo is against damage, whether it can be identified with various types of scans..." and "Wondering why the Freelancer seems light on cargo space compared to other cargo ships? The Starfarer is meant to hold fuel, not cargo. It makes complete sense that the Starfarer's cargo size would be less, since that is not its primary purpose.

But he was talking about the cargo bay inside the ship. Each ship fills a certain role. If it turned out that the Starfarer filled the cargo ship role better than other ships meant for cargo, then those other ships would be less usefull and therefore the starfarer would be chosen for that instead.

I believe fuel doesn't use those cargo units so in addition of fuel starfarer can carry 900 units of normal cargo. Also you have to consider that in costellation you can probably stack multiple layers of cargo vertically up until the roof. When you look at it that way 280 vs 1900 cargo units seems reasonable. You can only put one layer of cargo vertically in freelancers hold and that would be 280 and in constellation the surface area of cargo hold is perhaps twice the size and that would make 560, but if you can vertically put 3 layers of 560 cargo units that would make 1680 and that wouldn't be too far away from 1900 and difference could be because the cargo hold surface area would be bit bigger than surface area of freelancer cargo hold. All I am saying that because of the height of the constellation cargo area the cargo carrying numbers might not be as much wrong as many think.

The ones in the rear you call escape pods, really are power generators according to both the Taurus Brochure goo.gl/vYWN9c and the Andromeda Brochure goo.gl/DbCE6f . The escape pods are actually the sleeping beds (still according to the brochures). Other than that I really like watching your videos about Star Citizen!

Does the Taurus still sit this low? I feel like it would benefit from sitting higher off the ground than the other Constellations. It would make logical sense as you may not always have cargo loading vehicles low enough to actually reach the cargo platform. Just a thought I suppose

Codec XD freelancer dur is going to be way better than the taurus. smaller, and it has alien tech which makes it far cheaper to run. plus im thinking the lancers are gonna get a boost to their stats

the Freelancer Max has around 2x more cargo capacity at 120 SCU (66 on the normal Freelancer), so i guess it is somewhat safe to assume that the Connie Taurus has around the same increase with it's extended cargo hold. This would mean aproximately 192 SCU (92 on normal Connie), maybe even more due to its extra cargo hold replacing the bottom turret. Just an assumption though. Nobody knows the final stats yet, because the Connie Taurus is currently in limbo since other ships took priority over it when the freelancer max became flight ready. I have also heard that they are in the process of reworking the Connie Taurus (probably giving it a similar rounded cockpit to the Aquila for example), considering how old and frankly outdated the entire Constellation Lineup is by now.

The material texture you keep commenting on with the oil splats isn't oil, it's wear and scratches which has removed the plaiting and polished surface leaving behind a dull dark texture. Sorry but you keep geting annoyed at the constant use of a silly graphic is bugging me xD great vids
