Camera should be mounted in the landing gear area. It will be protected when landing gear retracted. Heck NASA solved this problem in the 60s with the Lunar Lander cameras

Its because he hadnt turned the ship power on. Once you turn on ship power from either pilot seat or the turret, all the lights come on and it looks nice

The pilot and co-pilot seats are similar to the MI-24, the co-pilot seat is supposed to be for flying and weaponry, while the pilot seat is mostly to manage the systems and navigation

There's bundles of cables like that where I work. And used to see cables like that in cell repeater stations when I worked for a moving company that swapped mod cells for Telus.

Side doors are great for deploying a Nox/Drgonfly in space if you wish to scout an objective or use them as snubs, also handy for search and rescue and deploying a speedy boarding party or loading cargo onto or from a caterpillar's side doors. :)

After a full career in the Navy I immediately recognized that red-capped pipe in the overhead as a firefighting connection. In case of a really bad fire you connect a hose to it and spray fire suppressant where needed. Why not automate it? This is military. They prefer functionality to esthetics, and expect the crew to be able to do what a million dollar computer can do. One portable hose the crew can carry saves the weight of running pipe to every part of the ship. That frees up mass for fuel, ammo, or armor for a given engine size.

As for the lighting bug in the turret tube, its due to the blue orb around many of those oddly placed (what we think are) emp generators. You can see it there in the upper area of the tube and secondary cargo hold of a freelancer, and in other ships. Thats also whats causing the damage states

You are right, there is a piece missing, that entire section there used to be a secondary thruster slung under the primary thruster on the old Cutlass, for some reason when making the new cutlass they preserved that spot, and filled it with random niknaks ^^

Well I'm glad the Cutlass has the side doors for the cargo area back, because the original concept had them (visually at least). The old Cutlass model had a side door directly behind the cockpit already though, regarding having to run all the way to the back.

The new cutlass model is longer and wider yes, but the cutlass black is the base model for the other variants, so aside from specialized equipment, it's the same as the red and blue

They make the ship much larger in V2 but remove the toilet. There is room on that ship for a mens and womens... with showers!

Do you think they will eventually add more immersive power up sequence and times instead of everything being instant on and ready, if a ship has been shut down cold and dark it would be cool if the screens and systems went through a power up/warm up and self test sequence.

Hello Tactical, could you address the question if the vertical thrusters that should enable hover flight mode in planet atmosphere. Because with the rework they removed those vtol thrusters in lieu of those doors to imitate a huey helicopter. I don't see any new thrusters to replace the ones removed.

The main engines rotate in their trailers. They don't seem to do it in game though. I hope it still gets added.

That's part of what i'm talking about. I hope it is just a matter of the fact that they forgot the animations implemented. Specially when the peripheral maneuvering thrusters were removed that could explain how this new reworked Cutlass black would be able to hover in a planet environment.

Cid Homer Imperial Pneulemen idk if you’ll ever see this 2 years later but I daily drive a cutlass and yeah, the back engines face downwards. You can be hurtling downward and switch to vtol mode and those engines sound like absolute monsters.

Red thing is a sprinkler. Fire suppression system. The little stem that sticks out of it gives it away.

When he 1st showed the new eagle-claw look of the landing gear, I imagined how awesome it would be to come up over a ship, and hook onto it with those landing claws, and then cut through & board through the lower docking ring. It would have made for some epic piracy boarding scenes in the game. Lost to another instance of 1-step forward, 2-steps back :(

That thing on the ceiling of the front section looks like a filler tube. Could be for loading or unloading gas or liquid of some kind.

Nice video but at least in the PTU you can zoom in on the screens in the cockpits with mouse scroll (I think), making them much easier to use. I agree that having having their own learning curve is a nice charm that will add a lot to the game.

the should make the towers kind of be used independently from the rest of the ship, like if the ships moves, the tower stays in the direction it aims, of course in a limited manner of moves, would solve all the problems i think... Ps: you forgot the upgrades for battle it got, i think its 4 size 2 weapons and tower with size 2 i think, pretty strong update, its quite strong in solo now ^^... and i kinda think its op, you got a big cargo, troupseats, strong weapons, tanky armor, its not bad at maneuvers, 3 doors, 2 beds, 2 pilots...i bet my ass it will get an uprise in buying cost, i will buy it before that happens i guess xD

MaMastoast The ship is designed more to the "rogue" type meaning that realistically you want it as minimalist as possible to maximise the amount of cargo you can ste-borrow and so on.

Had my first one on one fight in S.C. (near Olisar) against an AI/NPC in a Cutlass (same as I) and after, what seemed to be 45 minutes he blew up. ;-) Luckily it wasn't a player or I'd been dead in minutes.

I would like to see an advanced landing computer that moves the ship so you can land an deploys the landing gear. An an advanced computer that can "hover" so you can takeoff faster if you want to pickup something and then leave.

you can use it as a solo player. It will just be less efficient that way. We will eventually be getting NPC's to fill empty slots that you can hire

I don't think that is the chase really, looking at the display the co-pilot has (and the turret gunner has) its nothing truly vital. All the important things are still up to the pilot. That said it does appear that reallocating power in mid flight, reinforcing shields and micro all of that requires a co pilot. But flying the ship is not. so if u want to do a ton of pvp and be all pro like then it does appear that you need a co-pilot. but if you want to be a space trucker or just move from A to B then you should be fine. Still all is subject to chance and we wont really know until we all put through its paces.

You sound like you’ll be a perfect fit for the game, mate. Just one to be aware of: there really isn’t a *game* to play yet - it’s more of a light weight sandbox with some pretty cool tech. It will end up being awesome I am sure, but there is a ways to go before it’s properly done. On the other hand, the community surrounding the game is fricking great - worth the price of admission just to hang out with peeps : D - see you in the ‘verse.

its definitely a nice ship, but I just melted mine. been buying and melting every ship during tbe anniversary sale so that I can buy them back with tokens as they come out in game. right now I have a Reclaimer and 600i, but I'll melt those tomorrow. its just that the Cutlass seems very underwhelming compared to my other options.
