i just stopped to play it and started with ED, jesus i feal so much more in space than in star citizen....for so many reasons. music and sounddesign, the way u travel (i fucking hate quantum travel), the feel in general.... will come back maybe but mybe also not xD

I've been playing now for a little under a month and have barely scratched the surface of what can be done....which make so many more things to do. I come from Elite Dangerous, with a little under 1400 hours logged. When it came to sitting down and really looking at what I needed out of my space game. (Please note I said need, not want.) All arrows were pointing me in only one direction, Star Citizen. I entered the game knowing it is in Alpha. I did my homework, not on just the game, but the company behind the game. Before I even had a ship to fly the community had already accepted me with open arms and giving me more tips and tricks than I could even possibly remember. Needless to say it was a bit of a culture shock for me. To continue, This past Christmas I treated myself the gift of a starter ship, an Aurora. A little under a month later and I have just upgraded to an Avenger Titan. It's good to be having fun again.

Welcome to the verse 😁 I think the biggest stigma with star citizen is ppl assume you need to spend thousands of dollars on this to play. When really you just need that starter package and everything else is available in game 😀

@@RO8s if you're unsure just grab an aurora, and you can upgrade to a titan on the website at a later date by paying the difference. Honestly though, ask anyone in game the best starter in the game, and the titan comes out on top everytime. It's one that even most of the veterans keep hold of.

Love the breakdown of the # of planets, moons, space stations, outposts, etc. Very cool to remind us that there are so many places to visit in game. It can be easy to forget, and to neglect some of these interesting spots.

I keep asking myself many of the questions you answered because I'd thought I'd lost faith in the progress of this game. I'm an early adopter, and it's truly everything I want in a game (with all it's promises). I recently came back to playing and have had some frustrating nights where I just give up and log off but find myself coming back because no other game offers what SC has, even now in it's current state. For now I can only hope that progress continues to be made and enjoy what there is. Thanks for the very well put together video! Cya in the verse!

I can't image the work it took to get all the different shots of scenery and gameplay loops but combined with your commentary & music it just makes you feel pumped and excited for this game. Great intro video! You should totally mention though that if someone's thinking about signing up, using a code will also net them a free ship or vehicle if they do it after one of the quarterly patches drops. Usually 3 of 4 quarters a year has a promotion for new recruits, and some of those ships are worth almost as much as the starter game package!

Ship buying is a phenom that seems to be difficult to get you're head around. I find the best way to think of it is, as a hobby. Ships are a collectable and people buying them are dong so primarily to "brag" that they have them. The gameplay is not important, just that I can call down that elevator and spend 10 mins walking around my ship before I find the pilots seat. That in itself is an experience and when you top it with the opportunity to fly it with your friends in an open universe, well you have a whole new level of collectable.

Toy that you can play with, not just watch how it collects dust on a shelf just looking pretty. Rc cars are a good real life example of similar thing.

But this is just not so. If CIG went belly up, if the government(s) that regulate them decided that they were all of a sudden engaging in ponzi, or other frauds, or tax violations, they could literally pull the plug on CIG and what would be with your collectable expensive fake property? Nothing. Its vapor ware that is all your fancy ships are. I ebayed by stuff and couldn't be more than happy. I sold a $1000 account that is how much I at first bought into this mess. Sorry but I disagree these things are not collectables. Yes there is an amazing experience but it quickly grows cold once you've walked that interior enough times after crashing over and over and over and logging back in over and over and over and you realize that your $700 ship is nothing but a file on some server in some remote part of the world that is truly not your property.

Sure while not released there is some risk in this but nothing that hasn't been there since the beginning and people can go eyes wide open into this... investment. Just try to see it from another person's point of view, without the rant.

I'd say money well spent if we measure pure hours/dollar and even more well if we included personal preception of fun.

Being able to 'trade in' your ship and adding a few extra dollars to buy the next step up is a very nice feature. In many games you buy some virtual thing and that's it. There's no upgrading or trading it in for store credit. So when the next bigger and better ship comes along you're paying full price for it, as your older ship sits in the hanger unused.

I just bought a PC and for the longest time I’ve only been able to play games like roblox and TF2 or just anything that isn’t modern or up there. A bunch of my friends play this game and since I got my new PC they’ve asked if I’d get it. I’ve been on the fence about it. Some of my other friends who DONT have it say it’s a scam. I know I can run it perfectly fine and I am really into space games, this game looks fun but I just was skeptical. This review was very informative and I genuinely enjoyed simply watching it. Investing in this and playing with the community i had the pleasure to join was the best decision in my gaming carrier. This will be big, this will rule mmo games for the next generation. The potential is massive . All the bugs are to be expected. As you correctly said: It's in Alpha stage. The community is great. You will never be left behind and even if you can't fly yet , you can enjoy the city areas on the different planets. This Alpha-Game is even in a better state than most AAA games.

I like your approach to the video. Refreshing. I am THIS close to getting this game man. I played about 50 hours of elite dangerous and it just did not have enough depth. This looks more detailed and more soulfull but I know it will be more buggy. My love of space sims started with Tie Fighter vs Xwing, Wing Commander Series and Freelancer. This could be the answer to my long search.
