This is my issue on the fact as to why the Idris cant officially hold a Valk.... Your telling me a patrol ship either sends down 3 fighters to assess something on the ground, or the entire ship needs to be stationary landed on the ground....

Not sure if you've heard this yet Bored, but there is a problem with those who had a Retaliator bomber before Invictus. The bomber version was $275 & is now converted to the base version worth $150. We do also get both bomber modules so total value is preserved but you can no longer use the Bomber variant as part of a CCU chain as it's value has dropped to $150 if you try to upgrade. CIG is aware & and I hope this gets rectified, but they should have announced this beforehand for those who have been playing the CCU game.

In fairness, exploiting CCU upgrade chains is not something CIG wants to fix. It's like someone who uses an autoaim program to shoot through walls complaining that they can't cheat anymore. Using CCU chains to get cheaper ships benefits you, but it doesn't benefit the community as a whole if you spend less money and it hurts CIG by crippling their marketing analytics with a market flooded with CCUs that have not been applied or are sitting in buybacks. "Gaming the system" isn't something any company wants to support.

The capital ships always seemed a little crazy to me, the price sure but also just how we'd ever be able to use them still feels a bit way to ambiguous. Though the Idris is pretty impressive to walk around. We'll see how it is to actually use I guess but I wasn't disappointed.

Although I'd expect most people to use that option on occasion and that'd probably still be a unique experience. It just kind of feels like ships like that would require a scale of gameplay that we just haven't had yet. I was actually thinking whether you can have modular systems that you can store/install/uninstall in your cargo bays that would suit different roles. Ie jumpseats, comfort module, medbay module, repair machine shop. Mine, bomb, torpedo, rocket dumpers that would work through open bay doors.

3 Warbond CCUs today: Gladius Valiant for 100 instead of 110, closest is Reliant Mako for 95 but this isn't always available. The Retaliator for 165 instead of 175, closest are Prospector and Razor Ex both are 155. Lastly the Sabre Firebird for 170 instead of 185, the closest would be the Gladiator and SRV at 165.

Articificial scarcity for digital items seems to work well here. And You'll need a lot of friends or You'll need to be part of an orga to have the crew to man all important stations and to fly and use it effectively. These are ships designed to be multicrewed.

As someone who has a Retaliator Bomber, I can confirm this: It was changed in my account to a Retaliator (Base) with the two torpedo modules and when I load it ingame, it's just the base model. Not sure how, or if, I can add the modules back in-game. At the same time, I was also given a Retaliator Base in my buy-back list, which is interesting. I wish they were selling the concept modules without having to buy the entire package as I just want the dropship module paired with the small cargo, which is available. I hope they redesign the living space modules so it's not an empty room with a table as pictured in the thumbnail from the original concept. The retalitor's original modules were sold with limited insurance, so now with 12-year insurance is much more attractive to pick up. I really wish they would just be sold without insurance and just take on the insurance of the parent ship.

It’s not that hard to wrap your head around that Some people are richer than you or me and 3K is affordable to them. There is plenty of money down here in South Florida for me to know not everyone is broke and scraping by. But at least we both agree it’s poor financial advice to spend that kind of money on a game. Anyone with brains would invest in the development of SC for a stake in the game sales or a business loan rather than buy even more ships so Chris can ignore the backers to make HIS vision. Either way, A fair amount of those sold are probably CCU chains but the game has raised hundreds of millions so somebody is spending tons on the game.

I quite honestly like the firebird a lot. I was playing with it today, it just feels really nice. "Medium" fighter, feels like a light fighter. The sound is very nice on it too. My one real critique of the Firebird would probably be that I'd love to see alternate missile racks for it, still bespoke in that they'd only be made for firebirds. But like, 24 s2 or 48s1 would allow a much bigger choice in terms of whether you want a larger missile payload by power, or if you want a payload with greater longevity.

Friebird seems cool. I wonder how they are going to balance these though. Being able to fly in and just dump a ton of missiles onto target quickly and run away seems like it is either going to be too easy to dodge the incoming missiles, or if they are hard to evade, almost guaranteed death to any ship you are shooting at. Vanguard Sentinel is my prefered Heavy fighter as well. Can't wait to see the E-War stuff.
