I upvoted even though I have way too much money invested. Me and the friends I play it with call it Shitizen... We play anyway however because sometimes, very rarely, we have an amazingly fun and unique experience unlike everything else. We only play broken and/or overly complicated games like SC, DCS, Arma, DayZ, etc. because everything else is cookie cutter boring same same games. In other words, we're getting old and these games made for the kids nowadays suck...lol

I think I paid 40 or 50 in the original kickstarter, only tried it twice so far and both times it failed at my way too underspecced rig - 3570k + 970 wasn't even out when I threw the cash at them and later with 32 instead of just 16 gigs and the 1080 it actually got worse because they added so much stuff meanwhile - and I was able to fly DCS in VR basically at full settings (minus the bling bling aka AA/increased SS, PD>1 etc to just "depixelate" it as much as possible by throwing every possible CPU and GPU cycle at it that's actually needed somewhere else) getting 45fps with that thing - at least in a CV1 when staying offline. Basically I'm waiting for Sq42 and it to perform well enough - couldn't care less about the whole multiplayer stuff. Never played E:D online either. Oh, and ofc I didn't like inverted ;)

2:10 +1 on Dark Forces. What people don't get is that DF was cool because it WASN'T a Jedi story and that DF represented a fresh aspect of the Star Wars universe. Kyle Katarn was the basically the OG Mando.

As someone who loved the JK series, having never played DF1 because it was banned where I live (and I think it still is, but I got it in a bundle on gog a few years ago), I can understand the reasoning. Not being the super duper hero is often better story-wise. Anyway, there's no better "be a Jedi" experience than that series on the planet still, except for maybe Vader Immortal, which is way to short though.

It's not actually 12 years in the making. 12 years is from when it was first publicised. Back during the first kickstarter campaigns they used to say it had been being worked on since 2007/8 (to make it seem like it was more complete than it actually was) so by thier earliest statements the game's actually been in development for at least 15 years.

I backed this trainwreck in 2013 out of nostalgia for Wing Commander & Privateer. I tried it for a total of like 3 hours til now, never really liked it, forgot all about it, enjoyed the entertainment value of the drama surrounding it, and now I frankly don't know what this has turned into or what I'll ever get out of it. What I do know is that it honestly doesn't even look graphically impressive anymore, nevermind the tedious sim/second-life nonsense. I just hope there will be a playable campaign someday.

Honestly the hacker thing manifests itself from desync more than hacking. That's not to say there aren't any and it does seem to come in waves where it feels worse at times and then better at others, but that's in every competitive shooter these days, especially in looter shooters where the stakes of dying are higher than just losing some rank points.

I bought in with the Aurora MR at $40 way back once it left Kickstarter. I've been trying to play it ever since. My old rig could handle it fairly well at 1080p, but my current rig just doesn't like it. Not sure if it's something in my software environment, or what. @1080p on low settings I can't scrape together more than 25 FPS On a 9900K @4.8, 64Gig RAM, and a 2080. I get better performance out of DCS in VR with a loaded Liberation mission. Maybe my next rig will like it. I won't know until 2030 though, the way things are going. Hell, it might be ready for beta by then.

Oh, i know a workaround for the elevator glitch. First you have to leave the building, hop in the pilots seat of your ship, uncage your backup ADI, hop back out, go back to the elevator, click the button, get up from your chair, spin around 3 times (not 4 times and not 2 times unless proceeding to 3) smash your bathroom mirror and toss the kitchen sink out the window. after that, you should be able to just log out and play a less buggy game.

At this point I pray 🙏 Starfield is good because I have given up on SQ42 ever arriving. I was so worried when I saw the title of this video. I was worried Jabbers was going to become a super Star Citizen fan. I dont hate SC (or SC-PU). Definitely understand why some folks love it. It has its good moments. I actually think a lot of the ideas is good. But just tired of being a perpetual alpha tester so taking a break for a few yrs (think its been bout a yr now since I've last played). Granted, I did logon for that initial Jumptown 2.0 event and then decided to resume my exile soon after. Just want them to finish something, anything!!! SQ42, ToW, SC-PU. Focus and finish something!

Jedi Knight series was bad? Strongly disagree (But I wouldn't downvote you for it). I backed at the lowest level and I log in once or twice a year, walk around to look at the gorgeous ship models, then crash to desktop or fall down one too many elevator shafts. I hope their 'vision' for this game comes to pass, but I can't imagine they'd ever give up on their money printing factory.

Jabbers is playing SC LOL. The desync is a bit worse than DCS for sure. As much rubber banding DCS has, SC has that and way more bugs. You guys got blown up because you were in restricted area when you logged back in. It is easy to make fun of SC though. Plenty of content available for landing lots of views.

The first alpha was in late 2013, also being in alpha is a consequence of increase in scope, scale and fidelity, as well as the devs developing 2 games concurrently. You made some mistakes there. And yes, the game is not finished and the game does not tell you what you made wrong. The Elevator was bugged, yes. So you logged out in front of 4 Turrets on a restricted area. first it was not restriced because you had the mission wich gives you the permission and the turrets dont shoot at you. after you chaged the server, the mission was gone and the new server didnt know that you had a mission there. so the turrets start to fire at you. Saying Star Citizen does not have any content or is not working is not true for everyone. Ive got over 3000 Hours in DCS and playing Star Citizen since 2013 and i can say since the last 3 or 4 patches ive got more fun than in dcs. but that does not make dcs bad or not fun to play.

I know enough to know that all the bugs and tons of work arounds for those bugs is a huge turn off for me. I cant tell you how many times dumb shit has happened to me a my friends and one or all of us just dies to stupid shit that should not have happened. I'll revisit it when it again in a few years, but I'm guessing its going to be more of the same. At this point it just feels like DCS. Adding lots of new ships, getting ppl to pay more money for more ships of some sort while the core game is neglected. SaltEMike had a very similar take, and i can't say I disagree at all.

@@Jabbers first of all, yes. the game has many bugs and is broken in many ways. but thats why its still an alpha. right now there is only a small team working on it because cig wants to get SQ42 out. Star Citizen is almost tech complete now and in the early 2023 we will see many more fixes for bugs because they change a lot how the game works in the background right now. so it wouldnt make sense to fix some of these issues right now because they would need to take a look at it then again. to your point about paying and ships: no one is forced to pay for this ships. you can get a 200$ ship in under a week. you can but you dont need to. i just bought a ship worth 600$ ingame and was broke. now after 3 days iam back to 2 million auec wich is again worth 250$ if you want to compare it to the real money value. i can understand that not everyone can have fun with it and i wouldnt reommend it to everyone. it depends if you have a high frustration tollerance. so youre not toally wrong but neither youre right saying the game dont got "content that actually works or is actually fun to play."
