Man... I just got a trackir 5 and holy hell this shit is complicated... Way more so than I anticipated. Just setting it up it was spinning all over the place and kept losing track and it was also tracking like 7 objects instead of just the 3 dots. I don't know why. The other objects were red so idk if it was affected anything but I basically got nowhere in 30 minutes of trying and now I feel sick. yay.

What was that HOTAS mount? It would be perfect for my two MFCD setup but I can't find any with those side mounts.

VKB has now updated all STECS systems to not have the thumb ministick, it's now a gated 4-way + press hat, so no more cross-input. Many people liked that ministick, however. There were other small changes as well, check their sites to learn more about it.

one of the most important and simple things to know right away is, you need to bind a reset key on your keyboard, reset means the track IR will reset to the center position, where you want to be( not resetting values to default), i say this because i have seen people trying to put the camera or the track ir on the center position by moving these 2 and that's totally and obviously wrong, you just need to push the reset key to have it centered, after positioned the camera on the right place and the track on the headphones you are set.

Any thoughts on the software being from an open source protected under GLPv3 licensing? At first, I thought it was hot air within the flight sim community. However, I am beginning to think it’s the truth. No Moza flight dev or PM has responded to customers questions in 14days, and the last update was well over that timeline. It also makes me question if they have capable staff maintain and even improve on “their” software if they are using opensource code and converting it to another code base. It doesn’t sit well in the stomach and at the time of this all coming to light, I was well over my return date. I would hate to see more community members make a large purchase knowing the current situation within MOZA flight sim camp?

For me the F-14 doesn't create much of an issue with loading textures as the F-4E does. The F-4E simply locks my screen for 10 seconds until texture layers start to appear overlapping. I have 64GB of system ram and 8GB of VRAM and the VRAM is always FULL. NO other game or simulator, even MSFS 2020 at max ever goes beyond 6GB of VRAM. Dunno how the heck ED managed to hire who they did for plenty of things to be done in DCS, but they should do something about it!

Stupid question: As long as I use the DCS.exe in the "bin-mt"-folder, this should work for the Steam-version as well and regardless of what launch option I select in Steam (flat vs VR), correct? Not that I have high hopes with my puny 32 GB of system-memory and only 12 GB of VRAM, but every little bit might help as I had to dial the game's settings down something fierce to not be looking at a slide-show in VR.. :D Think I'll start with 4 cores on my 14700 KF.

What do you use for radar operation, that is move the TDC in the Hornet for example?

I have an AMD Ryzen 7 58003D 3.4ghz, DCS on a dedicated M.2 drive, 64gb of Ram and a 4070 TI super with 16GB of Vram. I play DCS on a G9 Neo ultra-wide with WW MIP screens and use AI track pumped in to Opentrack. Everything generally runs at 120fps for me. Recently, while playing Rise of the Persian Lion 2 campaign, on every mission, everything runs great. After about 45 minutes, my head tracking starts getting stuttery and it get's progressivelly worse. By the time I'm back at the boat, it's very choppy and my FPS is down to 80ish. Every mission starts with that issue afterwards, including after a DCS restart. Just an empty freeflight will be 70fps The only fix is a full PC reboot. I'm not sure if this would qualify as memory leak or the CPU issue you described? Just curious what path those symtoms I described you think I should explore to resolve it. Any help is much appreciated. This seems to be a new issue for me since the most recent patch.

As expected the majority of reactions are based on pure nationalism pointing towards vp rhino sold via website for 800 ex shipping costs because Moza is Chinese and you all dont like anything other than your own American soil being drowned with indian and slavery blood. That being said, Moza base is being sold in retail shops for less than 500 dollar. A completely different audience with a price quality that the west just can't match. China all the way❤

Excellent video; I never thought I'd have to be digging down into thread affinity/disk IO, but that's just where I am since they released mt!

I just upgraded my CPU RAM from 32 Gb of DDR5 CL36 5600MT/s to 64 Gb of DDR5 CL32 6400MT/s. And my VRAM usage on my 24 Gb GPU has gone down to 18 Gb's usage from being maxxed out at 24300 Gb's! My CPU RAM was also maxxed out but now it's hitting 42Gb's. Tested on the first mission of 'The Big Show' in VR on a Pimax Crystal. My frames were more stable as well.

Jeez…. Everything about this game is a freaking process… every other damn vr game can be viewed full screen and you can just record right off your desktop at high resolution… I love this game… but every time I turn around it’s another multi step process to do something simple.

Terrific in depth review. Thank you for going into such detail. I use a Moza wheel, base and handbrake for sim racing and their kit is great. I would expect the FFB part of their flight sim kit to be really good therefore. I currently have an aging Logitech/Saitek X52 Pro and I’m just getting back into flight sims after a long break, so really excited to see FFB kit coming out now. I’ll definitely be watching this space!

Any idea if the VKB NXT sticks would work with this?

I'm just getting into DCS and want to buy this throttle. I'm wondering, though, how useful the add-on modules are for DCS specifically. The ATEM doesn't looks all that useful to me, but the STEM does, so the "standard" is tempting. But I don't like the location of it, in front of the throttle. Seems like it'd get in the way. Anyone have thoughts on this for DCS specifically?
