Not entirely sure what you’re talking about here, if you look at the past vehicle trailers quite a lot of them don’t feature any violence etc. (e.g. the relatively recent vulture, hoverquad or ROC trailers).

It's nice but I have a garage full of vehicles like this and there's nothing much to do with them. Incredibly, we just got a new updated city and there aren't even any roads in it. Hoping for some basic delivery missions or something someday. Right now, ground vehicles are basically just to joyride around in for a few minutes until you inevitability hit a rock or something and get stuck or blow up.

going to and from bunkers is about as useful as the ground vehicles get outside of the ROC.. but I tend to agree. I already have an ursa rover that rarely gets used. As neat as this thing is I just don't see a purpose to it atm

the roads will come online eventually with the river tech, you can repurpose it with some adjustments, tools team probably busy working on other things at the moment.

Really like this idea - give us missions that require flying to a city and parking outside of it, then finish the delivery in a vehicle. Even better would be to have enemy NPC vehicles trying to intercept and steal the delivery. They could also accomplish something similar just by having package/hostage/etc. retrieval from a base protected by surface-to-air guns/missiles where we had to do the last 10k in a vehicle since the ships would get blasted and on-foot would be impractical. THAT would require very little work on the team's part compared to drivable roads.

Interesting, I wonder if RSI breaking into Origin's luxury style will be a continuing trend. Great video, neat vehicle idea, and makes sense to have something of this class from an in-universe/lore perspective. I could see missions down the road where we're asked to take VIP's on a tour of a specified area with great views using this vehicle. That would also give CIG an excellent opportunity to showcase beautiful areas around the 'verse that players may not often visit.

I've had a Constellation Phoenix Emerald for about 3 years, I've enjoyed the Ursa loaner that it came with until the Lynx was built, but I've been wanting this promised luxury land cruiser for years; planning to spend some time chilling in the back in those plush seats, with that awesome view. let me just say that this ad, for me, was more of an ad to showcase some of the new forest tech and the landscapes of Pyro which it did very, VERY well, so grats on that. as for the Lynx itself, i think it is a cool looking ship though i wish it was more functional, maybe with a conversion bed to save on space. and for the ad, while i think this ad was cool, i wish it showed like high-end passengers being driven around, like the new Microtech/Orison civilian outfits, as opposed to what we got.

Self defense. Most people in the game are not into PvP but there are those who run around looking for easy targets. I have seen a ROC defend itself using the mining laser.

@@Gm-ce5kg The lore doesn't have anything to do with subpar design choices for high end luxury vehicles. If you need defence, bring equipment for that purpose. Combining things into one underachieving package instead of having high end purpose built platforms is the poor mans choice. This is not a poor mans vehicle. A better choice would have been to increase the armor and perhaps replace the turret with a communications or scanning array allowing you to coordinate the escort that you should hav brought along.

If only there was useful stuff to do in the Lynx. SC players can imagine needing ground transport (perhaps due to environmental conditions, fauna, etc). Sadly, we have to imagine this since the game has nothing currently to actually make this vehicle worthwhile. Even if they added stuff tomorrow, the server tick rate is absolutely terrible. Thus there is wide spread desync and ground ai is virtually nonresponsive. CIG know how to make fine advertisements and they pitch SC as a live service product. Unfortunately, this is alot of style and very little substance. The game doesn't need any more ships or vehicles. It needs compelling reasons to use the available ships and vehicles, and decent server performance to support that.

Unfortunately, SC is the kind of game where its often more fun to shuffle around CCUs and imagine the possible future of the game than it is to play the actual game we have.

More than new ship and vehicle, i would say that the team working on these need to actualy fix and update already existing vehicle. Like the Carrack where you need to use the ramp to get out, (do the dev use their garage to get in and out of their house?) or the Cutty that have half of the space inside the ship lost and unusable because, reason?
