Henry Cavil's character was actually the pilot you see in the recruiting commercial at the start of the game. He was also the lead pilot of the fighters that escorted those bombers to attack the Kingship.

As a curiosity, the actors Mark Hamill and John Rhys Davies, already worked together for another videogame titled WING COMANDER III - HEART OF THE TIGER (1994), also developed by Chris Roberts, the same who is developing Squadron 42. The Squadron 42 videogame is inspired by the legendary WING COMMANDER videogame saga.

Most of the footage here is from the vertical slice of a mission they did some years ago, which was 1h of gameplay, it was far before a lot of things where done, and you can see the graphical and features difference to what you have seen now in the last demo, however, even being much more simple, and lacking stuff, it was still a really cool story that kept you interested along the way, which goes to show, that at least a degree of consistency can be expected on the quality in the writing, the video is named "Squadron 42: Pre-Alpha WIP Gameplay - Vertical Slice" and is on the Star Citizen official channel, for anyone interested.

You probably saw Sophie Wu in the Kick-Ass series. The SQ42 intro is from the introduction of the game, so it contains a lot of background info for the game. Rhonda Mitra is the original Tomb Raider movie actress, Gillian Anderson recently was in the show Sex Education on Netflix. Andy Serkais and his team did all the motion capture for the Vanduul characters. The mo-cap was mostly done in 2018 in the UK,so you are seeing many English actors, that you are unfamiliar with. There have been conducting more-cap reshoots to present, which is why the developers have a full studio.

Some of these actors, like Mark Hamill, were in previous games/films by Chris Roberts and they are all friends... Hamill was the star of the Wing Commander game that is the spiritual grandfather to this game. Cavill probably just did it because he loves this stuff...

yes many know Henry Cavill, but imho , the goat from SQ42 from that latest gameplay is the actor Jack Huston who played as Cal Mason, he was with the cavillry and was able to damage one of the Vanduul's fighter ship and caused it to destroy the shield emitter of the Kingship

Game footage definitely old as heck but it would have been better to include roles they were famous for also yes towards the end of the video its definitely small names but the key take away is that they were all face scanned so the level of detail in the characters is insane

Too bad you didn't link the original vid you're reacting to (or I'm too dumb to find). Whoever made this should do an updated version now with the 2024 citcon footage - and while at it, he/she should add "known from the following movies / series" to each actor's clip, and maybe change the vid to side-by-side instead of cutting the actor clips to ingame clips. But oh well.

Well, yes this is the biggest thing about Henry he is a big and passionate fan. Sadly, the moment he steps into something it goes downhill. From Witcher disrespecting the source material to Warhammer.

I think hes a more a cameo role in SQ42, not 100% sure though. He wasn't originally going to be in it tell he got in contact with CIG and offered to be in it for free just because he was interested in being part of it, and pretty sure that happened back when he was still doing witcher? Also Henry has other successes under his belt other then Witcher and warhammer, and witcher was a success at first tell the director and script writers decided they wanted to completely change source material. Actors that don't bow to the hollywood purse string holders agendas typically get axed. I don't know about warhammer because i havn't been following it, but I think everything else he has done has been good as far as his end of it goes.
