The USAID funded, MSH led Strengthening TB and HIV & AIDS Responses in Eastern Uganda (STAR-E) Project empowers communities in Eastern Uganda to effectively respond to the challenges of fighting the HIV/AIDS epidemic through prevention, treatment, care, support, and mitigation of social impact.
The focus of the STAR-E Project is to:
- Strengthen district management of their decentralized health system, including health facility and community level services
- Improve the quality of HIV and TB services provided by health facilities
- Strengthen the continuum of care of services between health facilities and their served communities, including linkages and referrals to strengthened community networks
- Intensify demand generation for HIV and TB prevention, care and treatment services at community level
