Hey guys, I am lucky to enough to be the owner of a Firestar M43. Its a shame this company isn't around right now. I took the "Firestar M43" to the range with 4 buddies including my self. Keep in mind that 3 of us were inexperienced new shooters and the 4th person might of shot a total of 5 times in his life. That day at the range we were all so accurate with the Firestar M43 that you would've thought we were all experienced shooters. I own a Glock 19, Springfield XD mod 2, HK P30 and this has never happened with anyone of my other guns. This is the only gun that I have owned that will make a rookie shooter look like a season shooter with very little effort. The reliability is also amazing you can run this thing over with a Mack truck and it will still function.

I have an M-43 too. Bought it new in 1991. It is a Star Firestar to be precise. Single Action Only. Also, I believe the gun pictured in the video is stainless steel. The Starvel finish is the blue/black finish. It is an excellent concealed carry compact pistol, except as mentioned, it is heavy as hell.

not sure why these guns never got popular here in the U.S. because these are excellent guns the quality of them are right there with sig, kimber, H.K AND COLT ETC ETC in my opinion. I have the star m-43 9mm in blue steel

i had one that had a doublestack magazine called the firestar plus. it was an awesome and accurate pistol. i could walk a coke can all around the yard with every shot and never had a malfunction. my son has it now and ive been trying to get it back from him.

old post, i know..but just saw it..i have a bianchi 'shadow' holster made for a walther ppk .380 and with a couple little cuts of the leather (inside to relieve the barrel, maybe 1" up, and on the retainer strap for the hammer) it fits the mod 43 perfectly, and cants the gun forward a few degrees for a 'high ride'. with this holster, you have fast access and it doesn't feel heavy at all. cheers

I love the gun. I love the weight. Plastic...Boo! There is a history of firing pins breaking. Mine was subject to that as well. However, the pins are not readily available. I had to find a "REAL" gunsmith, not just a parts changer outer, that made me one from scratch. I just got it back yesterday. It cost me $165.00 for the new pin, spring and sear work as well as a slight drill out of the firing pin hole to kelp keep from breaking the pin again. Expensive fix? Yeah maybe. But, before, I had about $80.00 worth of parts that did not work. Now, I have a fully functioning firearm that was repaired by a gunsmith that warranties his work. Im thinking its worth it. Im gonna take it to the range this week at my first chance to see how it does.

The slide sits about 3/4" forward of the hammer and can slide forward and come to a stop about 2" down the frame from the hammer. The hammer does operate as does the safety. I cannot get the disassembly lock pin to come out.

Have a Firestar Plus 9mm myself. It's my daily carry. I even had to go so far as to fab up my own CCW holster for it, lol. But a great little gun.

The majority of Spanish weapons were manufactured in a town called Eibar. In Spain, the Civil Guard (police) organizes auctions of weapons. In these auctions, people do not bid for Spanish weapons especially the Star, Llama or Astra since there are many of these here so the majority end up being destroyed because people do not buy them. However, weapons such as glock, HK or S & W are highly priced in these auctions. I am very sorry for this, because I understand that Spanish weapons are valued all over the world for the quality of their metals and their reliability. In fact, I have all the Spanish weapons (short and long), among them a M-43.

I gave the 9mm to my nephew and kept the 40 coz I have too many 9s. Its a great gun if you decide to get it. Really easy take down too.

My Star Firestar M43 was reassembled incorrectly. The slide is locked in the forward position on the frame and I can't remove the disassembly pin. Any advice?

pdewolf2011 Hi. In USA you can find mags for the firestar at TRIPLEK, and sometimes at e-sarcoinc or gunbroker. For holsters , you'll find a bunch of them that fit the firestar on ebay. I bought a Don Hume IWB one on ebay for my M43 a couple of years ago and it's just fine.
