Star Fox 64: Zoness Stage: Hard Path to Sector Z

Zoness was originally a ocean similar to Aquas, more or less. But then Andross had his army pollute its sea instead of using another secret weapon. This made Zoness even worse than what he did to Aquas.
A little bit after the beginning, Star Fox is greeted by a pink cat known as "Katt Monroe". She is to Falco what Bill is to Fox: An old friend. Because of that, she may show up in a later level after you beat this one to help Star Fox out like she has here.
Anyway, to get the Hard Path to Sector Z, take out every single searchlight you come across, and beat the level as normal. Unless you're really, REALLY good, don't attempt to get a medal under these conditions.
Finally, listen to Katt's voice. She's sharing her voice with Slippy. WHAT'S THAT TELLING YOU ABOUT SLIPPY???

After seeing the devastation to this planet you can sense the restrained anger and determination in his voice to take out those damn lights. It's a multi-layered delivery and it's not an excited "gung-ho" ready-for-action reading... and I LOVE it.

Lutz Peyton Indeed. This combined with the fact that Aquas uses torpedoes instead of bombs means that you can spam bombs in Sector Y as much as you want with no consequences. It's beautiful.

You can destroy the boss’s periscope during the fight. When he dives he’ll say “I can’t see anything. FIRE ANYWAY!” As a kid, that attention to detail was neat.

I like Zoness not only because I just plain love the level but also because it's the one where Falco is something other than an asshole (I still love him for being one though) and it is speculated that Zoness might even be where Falco is from because of his odd attachment to it.

One thing I really loved about this boss was that if you were clever, you could use the cannon balls he shoots at you to replenish your entire bomb supply for the next level, so if you went to macbeth, you could spam the train with bombs and destroy it very easily, making it even easier to get a high score on the following stage.

People get so worked up when a new player doesn't realize they have to shoot the exhaust pipes, despite Peppy telling them. Like first of all, wouldn't you expect the exhaust pipe to be on the back of something, not on top? Maybe some semi trucks have exhaust pipes on the top, but I guarantee you a semi is not the first thing people think of when they hear the words "exhaust pipe". They think of a muffler. Furthermore, I HAVE NEVER SEEN AN EXHAUST PIPE SHAPED LIKE AN ICE CREAM CONE IN MY LIFE.

Do we know this isn’t the back? It would make sense that the ships is driving forward away from you. It’s just that the crane doesn’t look like a front. Not saying it’s ok to get mad at new players, just saying that maybe the exhausts are on the back. Also they wiggle when hit, that helps

This stage was a nightmare to me. First time, caught by the very first searchlight, second time, got over 260 hit points, destroyed the boss, and beat the level.

This level is my hell! I get caught every time and the boss was HORRIBLE TO ME!!! While I can finish the level without getting caught, the boss is still horrible and the emotional impact always hits me like every meteorite who crashed on Earth.

You have to shoot down all 40 searchlights in Zoness, plus you have to score 250 or more points in this mission and all your allies alive as well. I used to played Starfox 64 and scored 250, 254, 258, 260, and even 280 kill points on Zoness and save Slippy, Peppy, and Falco from enemy fighters to earn a medal in Zoness, but it not an easy task, just like Titania on the easy path.

I swear to God, destroying the two exhaust pipes is so frustrating. He always maneuvers just out of the way, or the pipes just plain refused to be destroyed. Once the exhaust pipes are destroyed, then it’s a piece of cake, but those two exhaust pipes are quite literally exhausting when I play the game anyway.

I'm not sure if you knew this, but you can bomb the bomb the exhaust pipes on either side to prevent him from diving. Also, you can bomb the periscope if he does dive to decrease his accuracy and length of time he spends submerged. Just thought I would share.

At 1:22, Fox do destroy 2 out of 3 enemy birds who are chasing Slippy from the right side of the screen, with one remaining, but instead of chasing Slippy, after Slippy shouted, "Ahhh, I'm hit!", the 1 enemy bird will going after Fox and fly into you for some damage. At least Slippy Do dished out about 40% of his health gauge, with 60% remaining. Seconds later, Slippy: "Watch out Fox!", in the split second later, Peppy tell Fox, "Follow your father's example, Fox."

Getting the medals in Cornelia, Meteor, Fortuna, Sector X, and Aquas are easy to get, while Titania, Bolse, Sector Y, Solar, Macbeth, Zoness, and Venom 2, via Area 6, are tougher to get, and you have to be quick about it, not to mention to keep Peppy, Slippy, and Falco alive at the end of these missions, you have to slow down at some times in the missions and to use lasers and lock on to an enemy to get multiple points for a homing shot. Katina, Area 6, and Sector Z are the toughest missions to get a medals.

Area 6 not necessarily. If you save your bombs and constantly use charged lasers you can get a medal by the boss part. Venom 2 you have to time the Star Wolf battle right.

Fortuna is actually Fichina since it’s an ice planet, Fortuna is a jungle planet. They fixed the name of the planet in the 3DS version. Both planets are on Starfox: Assault and Starfox Zero.

Blow up the exhaust pipes to make him unable to dive. Bomb away one of his cannons, then slam the crane with 3 bombs to destroy it. Blast the cannons away then open fire on the main unit with lasers.
