Star Fox 64: Aquas Stage: Single Hard Path to Zoness + CUS Info

In a couple ways, Aquas is similar to Solar: Both have one-way routes, both levels are played through under different conditions, and both planets each have their own bio-weapons Andross made that Star Fox has to take out.
In Aquas' case, they have to travel underwater and find it using their Blue Marine, as it may be the source of Aquas' pollution. Take note that, besides Star Fox 64 3D, this is the only time so far that Star Fox has EVER used the Blue Marine. I assume not everyone was disappointed by this.
Just kill this bio-weapon to move onto Zoness.

I'm dumb for not knowing this before as a SF64 fan, but I've recently discovered a technique called "Charged Unlocked Shot" or "CUS". You use charged laser shots that explode on contact with the enemy. The resulting explosion being able to cover and hit the enemies around the one you hit.
Hitting one enemy with this yields a HIT+1. Hitting them together yields a bigger hit depending on how many more bogeys you shot down with it.
Normally, a charged shot needs to lock on to work and become a homing attack, but if you want this to be effective and critically increase your score, unleash it as soon as you can at an inanimate object, and allow only its explosion to kill the enemy. That's why it's called "Unlocked".
I'm now using CUS to get higher scores and earn more medals, as you can see.
Ironically, in the case of the Blue Marine, it can't charge lasers, but its homing torpedoes are treated like slow-moving charged lasers. So at least you can see how I pull this off in an abridged form, even though I failed to get a medal out of it.
Maybe next time. It's easy to learn, but it appears to be hard to master. Time it correctly and you may be able to gain some free hits just by constantly blasting the small area around your target. Even at this I'm not sure if I explained everything correctly.

Say hello and goodbye to the Blue-Marine, the brainchild of Slippy and Beltino Toad. The sub was used only once, for Star Fox's mission on Aquas during the Lylat Wars. It never entered mass production due to the high cost of building its G-Diffuser system and self-generating torpedo supply. By the time the Anglars rose to power in Star Fox Command, aircraft technology had advanced to the point that underwater travel became possible for most ships. The Blue-Marine was simply phased out by history.

MacBeth was the most annoying one for me for some reason. Probably because it felt so pointless to have a tank follow and take out a train that deployed an arial fighter? Solar was also maybe annoying too because you had to stay up high so you wouldn't burn and get hit with the rising tides of lava.

Good thing I got the 3DS version a long time ago, Aquas in the original N64 version is pitch black. It’s a good thing Starfox destroyed Bacoon, 100 percent of the entire population on Aquas would’ve be very very sick and turned into monsters.

As much as I love Aquatic concepts on Planets like Aquas here, this planet was a heccing nightmare for me to deal with. Other than how dark it is even if youre trying to shoot torpedos to light your way, i hate how insanely slow its gameplay is in here and has way too many damn enemies coming in at once. Oh and the Bio-Weapon boss is irritationg how you have to button mash a lot to where you get hand cramps. But despite the frustration, its environment is nice despite being dark and I love its music.

mR Andross guy Now while it would have been nice to have all 4 play styles represented in multiplayer, Aquas couldn't possibly have worked in that mode. The level was already a pain for the developers to get working in single player, imagine what it would have been like to make it work with multiple player characters eating up memory space. It simply wouldn't have worked, sadly. The existing multiplayer levels are very simplistic. This was done in order to ease the load on the N64 and reduce lag.

@@TinySwanGrandAdventures As you've probably figured out, you're not missing much by not playing Sector Z. Still, there's one noteworthy thing about it. If you fail the mission and let the Great Fox get damaged, the ship will remain damaged for the rest of the game, including the ending.

@@TinySwanGrandAdventures It sounds like you beat him already, but I'd still like to give some advice. The key to gaining the upper hand against Andross is figuring out his evasive tactics. Shooting him enough times without damaging him will make him teleport. However, he always re-appears somewhere behind you. Doing a U-turn when this happens will put his weak spot in your sights. If he's following from behind, let him come closer to you until his icon on the map is touching yours, then do a somersault. He should pass right under you just like any other enemy.

1: In the 1st level, Corn ar- I mean Corneria, you have to save Falco from the enemy ships tailing him. After that you have to go through all the arcs (Half-ring structures) in the Water part that comes after saving Falco. Then Falco will lead you through a Fountain to the path to the secret boss-- Attack Carrier (Ah, a classic recurring Star Fox boss). Defeat it to go to Sector Y. 2: In Sector Y, shoot down at least 100 enemies (Including the mini boss Shoguns before the actual boss & the boss Shogun Warlord) before the level ends. If you succeed, you go to Aquas.
