When you're just coming in after light speed and then zoom into the cockpit automatically at the start of the stage, it synchs with the music. That's the most memorable thing about this game.

I personally didn't think Starfox 2 was that great either, but I do think it was ambitious; and this is NOT a "BUT IT'S 3D ON SUPER NINTENDO!!!!" type of deal either, I promise; having it be an RTS rather than level-by-level on-rails like the first game could have worked since Starfox was a new franchise, and it could have gone in any direction they wanted, so why not? All it needed was a little more work and it could have been good. I have a particular love/hate for RTSs; they have to be *just* right, or else it won't grip me, and unfortunately that was Starfox 2 for me

The year was 1993. I had an Amiga 500, which was seriously reaching End Of Life in so far as a "gaming" computer went. 15 year old me is in a Dept. Store, in the toy section, I noticed that the Super Nintendo was demonstrating a new game for us to try. Having nothing else really to do that day, I grabbed the control pad and played this "3D space game" that had cute animals as pilots. I was enjoying it, and then something life changing happened. I reached the Space Armada level. And then this song started playing. I won't bore you with tales of me spending countless afternoons playing this game until completion. Nor that I borrowed money of my best friend to buy a SNES of another friend, all thanks to this game. Long story short. For many, Street Fighter 2 was their pathway to SNES... For me, it was StarFox/StarWing (And then later I would play a Zelda like game called Secret Of Mana. But that isna whole other story 😉) .... Don't tell me soundtracks can't influence people and move hearts and minds. This track is the genesis of my love affair with Nintendo...
