Note: I've watched the nine different endings and have a small knowledge to Star Fox Command, but this is how I'd write it: We can keep characters like Katt, Bill, Amanda, and Dash, as well as the original cast. Anyway, General Pepper is murdered, can keep the fact that he barely survived from the aparoid infection, and Peppy is hand selected to be the new general. Around this time, Skippy is with Amanda. Weeks later, Falco is accused of the murder and is arrested-NOT SOME "I'M BORED. I'M OUTTA HERE" BULL. As Fox, Krystal, Slippy, and Peppy fight to clear Falco's name, Amanda's mom died of cancer so Slippy goes to that Aqua planet, forget the name. So, that leaves Fox and Krystal. INSTEAD OF A DUMB FOX YELLING KRYSTAL SHE CAN NO LONGER BE ON THE TEAM... they get a call from Peppy to investigate a distress call. The foxes go and, drum roll please, it was a trap. Krystal goes missing and Fox has to escape without her, which crushes him. Then, things get worse. Falco is found guilty and will receive the death penalty. Fox has beem searching for traces of Krystal but to no avail. Slippy and Peppy try to comfort Fox but he won't listen. He feels like a failure and that he's lost two of friends. The night Falco is to be executed, there is a jailbreak. Falco is rescued by none other than...Katt Monroe! Fox gets word of it, a little overjoyed tgat Falco escaped the death penalty but worried he'll get killed now that he's an escaped convict. Two days later, Fox gets a message from Falco who claims he knows where Krystal. Fox, sceptical at first, decides to rendezvous Falco, not letting Peppy know, what with posdibly his position being compromised. He tells Slippy who would need to cover Fox in case anything happens. Fox meets Falco at Zoness base. He is now missing. Slippy, now only with Amanda, the two of them now searching for their missing friends. This is when the adventure begins. Edit: there are a few youtube vids I left similar thoughts in the comment section. This one's a little different but it still has the same premise. What do you guys think?

Zelda and mario have gone open world with the ability to give the player the freedom to handle the situation any way you want. Assaults on foot missions gives you the freedom on how you want to handle it. Do everything on foot, everything in the landmaster, arwing or swap between them. I was able to complete the Sauria mission in 5 minutes, getting the medal just by taking care of most of the hatchers in the arwing then going on foot to take care of the indoor ones. Nintendo’s excessive reliance on gimmicks as main selling points is what caused potentially long-running franchises like Star Fox to be forgotten by time. It’s kind of sad, because that’s Nintendo’s MO. Sometimes you don’t have to do a complete overhaul or introduce a new gameplay mechanic that needs expensive peripherals. There are times when less is more. A clear example of that is Metal Slug, which still holds up to this day while carrying the same old core mechanics. It took SNK 10 years to add two more characters and different stats for each.

The thing is that Assault was a natural evolution of the series that just needed one more game to realize its potential. Every game besides the first had on foot gameplay and assault bridged three gameplay styles from 64 into a single mission style. 64 you were either in the arwing or in another vehicle for that one mission. Assault gave you the freedom to switch between them in a single mission. That's cool, and that's innovative for the series while still being in the ballpark. It just need that nintendo polish, that follow up game to clean the rough edges but we didn't get that.

I actually kind of liked the ground based missions in Assault and I am old enough to have played the original, but I will say I enjoyed the 3 rail missions were my absolute favs. The ideal sequel to 64, imho, is a game that has 3 or 4 different endings branching from 3 different paths (paths like 64) and each level builds on the story in a different way. The final ending (4) is the true ending where everything turns out great. Now I do think the story cutscenes in Assault were a bit too lengthy, but I appreciated the interlude before missions. That kind of dialogue would be INCREDIBLY more impactful if there were 3 different routes which can be switched around depending on missions' objectives rather than the repetitive 1 track story. So, to summarize, the ideal Starfox game to me would have 80% rail Arwing missions (64), a branching story with multiple endings (64, Command), have short cutscenes to help the player understand where they are in the story (Assault) and have a high score counter to encourage speedrunning/repeat plays to find the best routes. It doesn't even need new shit. It just needs to take the shit that's good and make it happen together.

Yikes! If they ever decide to..reboot Star Fox for the 3rd time, then what they need to do is just make a new game that introduces ground missions, and, like what Ubisoft did with the boys in Starlink, let us be able to play the other characters-it is called Star Fox, after all. For love of Pete, don't retell the story of Star Fox setting out to kill Andross and weaken his squadron. They can reference those events, like what The Batman did. And, I hope they will bring Krystal back, just...make her better. Her backstory is great, just use it to flesh out her character throughout the games.

@@kurokamina8429 Miyamoto stated that he has not interest in making another Starfox unless he can come with a new gameplay idea for it. SF is based on arcade shooters, which have been dead since 2005, mostly because of how short they are now a days. Since Nintendo has Splatoon 2, an online fast paced shooter with multiplayer, why bother with SF?? Even if Nintendo wanted to make another SF they would have get a third party company to make it, like Assault and Zero. As Nintendo in house are too busy with other projects. The good news is that I recommend Rocket Knight Adventures: Re-sparked!, and Bot Vice there like Star Fox Assault in 2d. There's this game called Elsie that looks cool, but it's sadly not out yet.
@kurokamina84299 ай бұрын
@@orangeslash1667 that statement no longer matters now. Nintendo is currently giving young blood a shot on their IPS and miyamoto himself is busy with the park and other stuff. Miyamoto can approach of letting someone younger have a Crack at starfox. Technically speaking arcade shooters were dead if not dying as early as the first game and they were successful. Also for something that died in 2005, they choose to allow sakurai to make kid icarus uprising which is an on rail shoot for the 3ds in 2013 was it? That games a massive cult following and people would love to see it return. But unfortunately it probably won't as it was a one of thing for sakurai. But it's important because not only was it an on railer shooter but it was also a 3rd person shooter which is what assault is. All it really needs to do is be polished, have an excellent story, and multiplayer. I'm perfectly fine with nintendo not working on it themselves. I trust Bandai Namco or literally any other 3rd party developers with starfox more then nintendo. And metroids been doing well if mercury steam so that's a plus really. Again this statement is one big pile of shit because they have more then just one platformer, more then one adventure game, more then one rpg game. StarFox and splatoon play nothing alike. Starfox has space ships, tanks, variety of weapons in a sort of battle royal arena. Splatoon is more similar to like plants vs zombies where its team based and trying to take over the most turf with your ink. They look and sound nothing alike. And don't do that recommending stuff. Again, this is coming from someone who likes the Star Fox series. Hell… I’ve played Star Fox 64, and more recently Star Fox, and Star Fox 2, (Thanks NSO), and I’ve enjoyed it. But I also want more than just flying around in a ship and shooting shit in space.

I like Star Fox, too. And, yes, Fox should definitely be on the ground for a good portion of the future games if they decide to bring the series back. Assault was in the right direction and even though I understand the criticisms Adventures has received, agreeing wiht a good amount of them, I still like the game. If the future Star Fox games focus on story, characters, and voice acting-although I don't find it bad but am opened for possible improvement based off of what others have said-then we can definitely make some progress. Also, considering Star Fox is a team of mercenaries, they would also be in part of controversy as well b/c not everyone likes mercenaries, even if some of them work for the good ppl-can definitely work for a character like Fox who wants to uphold his father's legacy but doubts if he's doing enough and that should they even be mercenaries b/c, at one point, they were hired by another army General but wetr tricked into killing a wrongfully convicted guy and now this puts a dent in Fox's conscience-who else could get killed b/c of their status of being mercenaries? Farewell, Beloved Falco had a story like that, but the narrative was botched b/c it turned Falco and Fox into unlikable, clueless jerks, as well as having a lack luster villain, ect. Also, the other games, after Zero, should focus on the other characters: Falco. Slippy, Peppy, ect to flesh them out, like what Resident Evil has been doing. And speaking of that game, RE4 is a beloeved game that kept what ppl loved about the Resident Evil earlier games, and adding a new genre to the game: action. If it can work for RE, then adding ground missions, as long as they don't over do them, shouldn't hurt the Star Fox franchise into evolving.

@@jahmirwhite7807 Isn't innovation the reason Mario and Splatoon keep going??? Not helping matters is that If Miyamoto wanted to make another SF, he would have to find a third party company to make it. Even SF 3ds was made by Q games.

I disagree heavily with him about Star Fox Adventures. The most annoying parts of the game was Slippy, the Dinosaur's language, and the stupid strength contest that literally broke one of my controllers. Other than that, ot was a great game. I would have personally have taken it in more of a Jurassic Park direction with the Dinosaurs but, otherwise I enjoyed it.

I think they fit in pretty well with the rest of the roster. Dragon Quest is a pretty classic video game series and Banjo Kazooie was always a Nintendo character. No complaints really

There's no proof of Pigma actually killing James McCloud, he only betrayed the team to Andross. Most likely Andross himself killed James. Also, when you were complaining about the original Star Fox and praising 64, you sounded so annoying that I got pissed off, so please cut it out!

As someone who really wants a proper sequel to 64, I feel the pain in this video, even thought I don't agree with all of it. Sadly, that's probably not going to happen. With the exception of a small jump with 643D, every new game since 64 has sold less than the predecessor, culminating in Zero completely bombing out. Nintendo ain't gonna touch this series for a long time yet with a sales trajectory like that.

As much as you gush for Star Fox 64, and after revisiting the 3DS re-release myself, I can say the following sentence: "Star Fox 64's popularity is overblown and overrated for what it: A glorified tech demo that set too high a standard (provided there ever was one) and has been the problem for the series as a whole." After the disaster that was Star Fox Zero (Forced Controls, Gyrowing, relying heavily on nostalgia, and mooching off 64 and SNES Star Fox), I can look at and appreciate both Adventures and Assault for trying to push the series forward rather than pander to SNES Star Fox/Star Fox 64 fans.
@MagillanicaLouM2 жыл бұрын
Gotta agree, I get why 64 is close to ppl's hearts but that fan attachment to it that was so prevalent through the 90's and 2000's is ultimately a major factor in the series stagnation. Adventures is a weird case cause it wasn't gonna be Starfox at first but Assault making the most out of that game's addition to the universe while moving things forward in a cool way absolutely is what was needed but at the time from what I heard growing up, the fans weren't ready. They just wanted 64 2. Which yeah sure, things like multiple paths and replayability would be nice but that's stuff you add on as you build off the groundwork Assault laid out while still moving forward, ideally. But now we've reached a point nintendo took the 64 craving to heart and ONLY does that, WHEN Miyamoto feels like letting a new Starfox game exist at all cause of the added obstacle of his weird double edged innovative game dev philosophy. Hopefully 5-10 years from now he sees the change of heart I'm seeing in most of the fanbase from what I've seen in a desire to actually move on from 64 at least narratively and continue off of Assault. And do it better than command did.

@@MagillanicaLouM Adventures started out as Dinosaur Planet before the change (Probably to keep Microsoft from getting a port of the IP). I loved the things that Assault brought like the ability to wield better weapons to even able to board Arwings and Landmasters. (64 introduced On Foot Combat but you had to collect medals in 64's Expert Mode and it was woefully underpowered compared to the Landmaster and Arwing). If the Switch or its successor gets a new Star Fox game, here's hoping that it builds from Assault's blueprints while pushing the story forward instead of rebooting...

@@McWarioSmashthe funny thing I recently learned is that the follow up to 64 would have been some type of adventure game with or without dinosaur planet. Crazy but true, there was an interview on imamura that you can find somewhere in the r/starfox subreddit but basically Miyamoto suggest to him to have the next game be an adventure game. So he and a group of people were figuring it out but then Miyamoto say that rare was working on something similar and decided to offer rare the ip and turn dp into adventures. Ideas imamura had either didn't make it like fox's blaster or was tweaked like the 20 year gap turning into 8 years. But man Assault on foot missions felt like something nintendo would be doing now with starfox. Mario and zelda has gone in this direction of over coming the task at hand in your own way in this sandbox experience. Assault multi vehicle swapping gameplay is very close to that for Starfox. I would love to see another one.

Ok, i also disagree heavily with his opinion on Star Fox Command. Even I can find GOOD things to say about Star Fox Zero. If all this guy wants is to play Star Fox64 then go play it and stop adding to the freaking salt that's already in the Star Fox fanbase...

Especially on Assault like what the hell? The game doesn't take a couple hours but 5 to 6 hours. The on foot missions can be played with 3rd person controls and mostly designed to be played however you want. The sauria mission for example I completely by destroying the majority of the hatchers in my arwing and went on foot to take care of the ones in doors. Heck I find Assaults story to be superior to 64 just for the fact that I actually feel like there's importants to the mission compared to 64 where I'm just like "okay". Not to say that 64s story is but, just saying that Assaults is far from mediocre.

Like how Star Fox 64 is a reboot of Star Fox snes i think they could've made Star Fox reboot of Star Fox 2 which would be a true sequel to Star Fox 64 back then. And sure they may had to change some stuff like changing the villain since Andross would be dead in 64 but you know.
