hey all! time stamps for locations are in the description and as for the Cipher Memo treasure chests, here are the 4 locations so dont worry if they arnt there for you. just complete some quests to get the cipher and they will spawn. This video helped me find the chests I was missing, but this game's been out too long for the internet to not have a list of the top 10-15 most unopened chests! Since we're all probably looking for the same few chests, here's the list of chests I overlooked: - Cryptographic Message chests: I was missing 2 of these (I think there are 4) - Den'mohr Delve: Enter from the Larcasse Weald map to find 3 chests - Battleship Scorpium: Go all the way to the end where the boss room is (i.e. floor 2). The chest in the room at the end and up off the ground a bit. - Parrapoeiam: Education Center - DUMA up to balcony by the door - Integration Plant: On floor 8, DUMA up to floors 9 & 10 for 2 chests

To anyone in trouble, don't give up. I was at 99% for 6 hours, I used this video, the written guide in Japanese with the maps showing all the chests, and didn't find my last one, then went back to this video AGAIN, one last time, and was missing the one at 26:50 in an area I checked 3 times, farmed, and played through normally at least twice. I don't even know how that's possible. Sometimes the one you're missing is not a crazy hidden one in Integration Plant, but one on the floor in the middle of a huge plain area (I think we all have a tendency to more or less stick to the left and right sides when we explore, but rarely go through the middle).

Perhaps a bit late but if it is not obvious, you have to loot the chests for them to register. In other words, if you can't pick up what's inside, it won't register!! I learned that the hard way. Another thing... Slight spoilers: Yes, there are two bonus "dungeons", and No, they don't count towards the 242 total chests.

They must just be so random spread over the areas that none seem to stand out to me as ones I must have missed. I could be mistaken, but it looks like you either forgot the last chest in Scorpium Network (Floor 5), or it was edited out. It's not that big of a deal overall, since the chest in question can be seen when you showcase the map at 53:02, but still, the title of your video does claim "all 242 chests". It is possible for viewers not to notice this, the particular scenario could be - Someone like me, using the video as they progress through the story, but since they're using this video, may not be using Scan to find the chests. If the player isn't using Scan, but manage to miss the map viewing in the video (it only lasts a second after all), they could miss the chest.

Something that would make it a little easier for us to track our progress is a spreadsheet or a page that says how many treasure chests exists in each map. That way, as we play the game, we could see the regions we have already unlocked and sum how many chests we should have at that point by using the spreadsheed. Does anyone knows if there's any website that shows this?

Finally found em all. The one I was missing was the Rainbow Diamond in the Scorpium Ship behind the boss. Probably had a full inventory, crafted some stuff, then forgot about it.

This trophy is so much more annoying than it should be... how hard would it be to show how many chests you've looted in each zone on the map or map completion. I feel like this is the only star ocean to do none of that... so now I have to watch a 1h video to try and find the 3 chests I somehow missed in all my attempts to look. Don't take that the wrong way I appreciate your hard work just venting lol. Feel like this trophy is more annoying than craft 90% of items

Just an FYI great video but next time leave the map up a split second longer. I realize it would make the video longer (really not a bad thing for you and if we are trophyhunting we expect long sometimes) but sometimes ithard to even pause on it. With that being said i got to find 6 more. I know they are flight ones and going to focus there.

You have to complete a quest that you can take at the semiomancy consortium. The reward is a ítem that lets you open the door.

The only problem with getting all chests is you cannot dump one if you have a full item and you can't get the chest, then storyline continues and you lose that chest pickup forever until next playthrough, so getting achievement is simply near impossible if you have full items, you can only sell or use them during battle, you cannot do shit if there is no battle or shop. The game should have given you a choice to either collect contents and sell the rest or leave contents in the chest, it doesn't do that just unable to acquire items, and that's the end of that, Tri Ace need to step up their game, they aren't nearly as good as they used to be back in the 90's. This game has so many flaws.

None of the chests are missable, you can return to all the areas you've been to. So if you weren't able to pick up an item, go sell/use it and come back! Although it is a pain, I wish you could just discard like in SO4.

Lets not forget how annoyig it is to go all the way back through the game to collect them, I must of missed more than 20 or 30 chests because I had full inventory lol fucking Tri Ace are trolling me lol.

seems like you might have overlooked one of the quicker ones since before uploading i did a test run with the guide all 242 are in here. one of the most likely spots to have missed a chest are scorpium spire, scorpium network (scanner is bad in both of these places) or the aucerian plains/highlands and finally cottrinth region. i would suggestion ignoring the scanner in these locations and doing a visual check

Unfortunately, no - it won't register as an opened chest unless you collect the item.

Oh for the love of god! I just got my last treasure chest that I was searching for for 50 hours! I scanned every zone in excess of 30 times and I was just about to give up when I found it in the final dungeon zone 5 at the bottom and then you go and post a video of every chest! 😂😂😂😂 where were you couple days ago 😂

I went through it twice very carefully while going to each location in game, they open 223 chests while missing 13 very hard ones granted but also miss about 6-7 from the Delve which they never went into....then hilariously they go into the bonus dungeon and open all the chests....which don't count, I mean just before they posted that video and the achievement didn't unlock you would think they would just not post it?? I knew you would be along eventually with the TRUE treasure video and I'm glad it exists now for everyone else cause it was a pain in the neck 😂

Once you level up DUMA’s extend scan, this game becomes quite easy to find all the chest just by simply exploring and scanning everything, it gets massive range. Honestly, it’s quite fun not gonna lie. The memos are prob the only thing that needs actual solving.

the scanners range isnt the problem, its the height axis on its coding, long story short its trash you could be right next to a chest but 2 feet above/below it and it might not register

my best advice, dont rely on the scannerm use your eyes and manually check each spot by sight, the scanner is TERRIBLE if theres even a remote difference in height between you and the chest
