The combat is different than any other star ocean game, keep that in mind. Getting good in this game will not help you in any way shape or form, in older SO games

The combination of first aid and auto heal passive skills is pretty op. Max those out and even bosses will struggle to take you out

Guts actually does more that is not stated in it's description. One of the tool tips that flash by quickly also says it increases the amount a character can be healed and also their crit rate.

I just started playing this the other day and I'm still really early.. the first boss that you fight, the worm thing kept one shotting all my team mates so I ended up just leaving them downed and just fought it myself and beat it... but it was incredibly frustrating and was worried that the entire game was gonna be like that.. ima start upgrading my passives more

Thank you for the information. I was looking forward to playing the game, but I DETEST the complexity of the battle system. I acknowledge that the intricacy of the character development could (and does) appeal to certain gamers. Just...not me. I am mature enough to accept that not everything is made to suit my notion of fun. Naturally, I would have preferred to have been aware of the off-putting difficulty BEFORE I bought the title.😊

Combat is really fun but its taking me awhile to get used to this ap system and the combo system, i feel like i mess up all the time. My main complaint is how hectic combat can get. Enemies can be quite small, and when theres alot of them casting attacks and long range ones, its very hard for me to tell whats happening on screen and predict what to do and dodge. I get hit so much, not becuase of skill but more so because i cant tell whats happening half the time so i end up spamming duma

It deff can get hectic and hard to see. Make sure to lock on to one enemy and try to take them down first. Keep some distance and plan what u want to do I would close in on an enemy from far with a blindside and then u can do a long combo on him, then move to the next enemy

Yes that will make u a bit overpowered until u get to post game bosses and stuff. This is a guide for beginners lol
