Best opening chords ever. What a hornline...I wonder how much beef those mellophones need to consume on a daily basis to sound that phat...

It was a strict regiment of 8.5 pounds of raw beef. lol Thanks so much! We had a blast.

Some of us Blue Knights had the chance to help them bring their podium onto the field for this. Standing there before that hit, every hair stood on end; I had to raise my arms it was so electric. That first hit is such a terrifyingly bold arrangement, and you could feel the sheer 100% commitment from everyone on the field to go big or go home. They also had about 1.5x the people in this Alumni hornline compared with a typical top 12 corps; imagine the power.

was this like the alumni of the original group that played in the early 90's?? either way it was beast! I miss marching band (lol banddork)

There 90% plus was Alumni. The holes that we had were filled by other corps age outs.

What were the other drum majors pointing at the 2:46 mark? It looked like something on the video screen/
@scottsteenburg2 ай бұрын
Yes. The music was in synch with the video on the Jumbotron. Final note was the 2nd cross.
@neetsac14 жыл бұрын
the video showed the second cross resolving in perfect time with the music. thats what they are reacting to.

What year did Star march Belshazzar's Feast, or did they just use the opener for this show? I'd love to see the video of the performance if they did march it though! I have the video of our high school doing the same show in '96 and would like to see how the "pro's" did it - never have.

@DFiscus1 If I had to guess Matt and Becky were excited about what they had just heard and the pointing was expressing that fact to those of us on the field.

Yes were were on Bb horns. G's would have been a bloodbath.
@BruceRichardsonMusic6 жыл бұрын
Yes, so disappointing. You really hear it on "When you Wish Upon a Star." Anyone who imagines that Bb horns were a good idea should just have a listen to how Star's sound completely changed. And note that the intonation on the Bb horns is not one bit better, because that is a myth.
