The player character in arknights is called the doctor. so far idk, it seems like a alternate timeline or history of current arknights. The base building reminds me so much of metal gear 5 x death stranding. Basically, in arknights the player is one of the leaders of a faction with a forward operating base that could move around. im hyped as hell to play around with that part of the game.

You can only guess how much excited we as an Arknights community are for endfield. This game was memed to death how it would never release and BOOM. We got these today... I'm so happy wide audience will finaly get to know how cool ak is, because sadly a lot of people get scared by the tower defense and didn't get to know how awesome the game and especially the developers are. This game was announced 1.5 years ago and its been majorly updated since in terms of graphics. Also gameplay imo seems more akin to dragon age but with 'break bars' Mc also has a male version. (Im only at 5:20 atm) Regular ak does not have pvp

The girl with pigtails is Angelina. A character from the original Arknights. How did she ended hundreds of years in the future? No idea, but a flavor text in an outfit of hers said something about her powers that could have beenn a hint. She manipulates gravity, but so far she only uses it to fly and make enemies miserable.

Either this is the datamined 'dimension traveller Angelina' waaay back Undertides or this is the bloodline of combat Angelina ver in the future that somehow woundup in Endfield

I honestly think you should try Arknights. The gameplay might decieve you because it is chibi but it has actual depth to it since it is a tower defense game and you can clear it with FREE units if you strategize well and play around the stage gimmicks. No PVP is involved there is a rogue-lite mode simillar to SU in HSR .The story is amazing and doesnt hold back on anything and the world building is great and fantastic. If you want to learn about the story there is an anime about it and features Chaper 0-6 which can saves you some time reading Also we suspect the twintail girl in the end of PV1 is Angelina in her Visitor of Factor Skin, She is currently playable in the original game and her powers revovle gravity so if she can bend gravity that hard she can time travel

Day 1 player here:3 A lot of mechanics in endfield is a direct expansion of what we already have in arknights. The tactical aspect, base building 2.0, resource management, etc. Definitely understand the original game’s tower defense gameplay isnt for everyone, but what carried the game is its outstanding worldbuilding (endfield takes place in the very same universe) and dedicated community. Hope everyone gets to dip their toes in hypergryph’s new project

I hope Endfield incorporates the Reclamation Algorithm Raids from Arknights. Where our base/s will be in constant attack. And the players will be in constant defending/developing/expanding the base/civilization. Because let's be real with most game the map size like this. It feels boring once there's nothing to do. It's high time we have a dynamic open/semi-open world. Heck even incorporate the satiety system (food/hunger) and weather conditions. Imagine the potential!

They applied some mechanic of Xenoblade or FFXII in their gameplay. You can swap Character if you want at any time. Let's look at skill. I think each character have 3 skills and 2 passive skill like Arknight. You can only choose one active skill for each character. When you click the shortcut of skill in combat, it will automatically change character and execute their skill. If you swap character fast enough you can create combo skills (For example in Xenoblade: Break>Tople>Lauch>...). We also see each character have element bellow the name. That's new and could lead to many things may happen. More than this we can saw the circle like a clock outside the skill which have 5 parts. It is full when you do normal attack. Which mean the Ultimate of Skill can be executed when it's full. Look at cutscreen of Dragon girl. It's Ultimate skill when clock is full. For example: Skill Fire (5 tiers) is stronger for each tiers and you can execute anytime you want. If it is full you can excute Ultimate skill Dragon Fire...

This game have been anounced like 1.5 years ago at a very barebone stage, this is the first footage we got since, so the game is probably still pretty far away as this might just be a vertical slice to give an idea of what the final game will look ilke. They apparently run a closed beta right now, but if we look at the original Arknights game, they did run a closed beta in 2017 and the final game released in 2019 in china and 2020 worldwide, so we might no see that game for another 2 years as well, maybe even more as it's a bigger scope project. Also I agree this remind me a lot of Xenoblade as well, especialy XBC X with the setting being a different, unexplored planet from the main game. As for a boss fight, it's true that it would be cool to see what it would look like, but if they put as much care in their design for this game as they do for the TD one I'm not too woried about it, they tend to do a realy good job at making each bosses feel unique good to fight even for a tower defense game.

So the part where you said they might lose you, i think that portion of the game is basebuilding like in the original arknights, granted i dont have any substantial information but based just from what im seeing, it looks like youre building the base, but because its 3d think maybe similar to genshin teapot, but the majority of the things you build are actually more important individually and not just to feed a "score" to obtain more points regularly, if its anything like the base in arknights youll have to build power sources, a room to convert and upgrade rarity of materials, things presumably to passively farm resources in some way, things of that nature

My question is is the base location seperate from the world entirely like the genshin teapot, is it its own world but not something you entirely own like the tower of fantasy base thing with its own set of mobs, or is it you literally building in the open world which may or may not allow you to do things like build those rope slides to key locations for farming and what not, each possibility opening up more possibilities in how it can impact gameplay, the teapot one being the worst option

If a past event from Arknights was a beta test for the game... I can say that the building phase is important to defend your base from enemy... You gather food to and convert it to somekind of energy drink to heal... Random world event etc... But this is if it follows the event (Reclamation Algorithm)

@zyneg nah, this won't be like that. RA event was a kind of test for movable maps and different kinds of game modes for AK. China server will have RA2 event soon, and if it goes well, I think they will make RA permanent game mode just like they made IS permanent, too.

Things that I noticed that I couldn't originally comment on because its too annoying to do it on my phone when I was watching it: 0:41 - That girl looks like Ch'en judging from her horns but shes not, Ch'en is blue hair red eyes, can't think of anyone else so maybe its a different timeframe from arknights? or maybe a different universe similar to genshin 2:28 - That looks kind of like when League of Legends gives you a skill indicator, I notice it slows down/freezes when you do it, I wonder if its possible to quick skill it or becuase of how the game works just clicking the skill once will always do that 4:00 - Going by the distance increasing / 80M and then they build right before 80, presumably build limitations, I wonder why theyre imposed, are you building in open world and so you need certain limitations of the area you can build, is it limited by the power supply and so you can only build within a set distance from said power? 5:12 - The 5 star has 3 [abilities] the 6 star has 4, similar to Arknights I guess but how do the abilities function, i assume the colorless ones are passives and so the 6 star has two [active] abilities? There seems to be a checkmark on one so that means its like Arknights where each character can only use one of their skills for all of combat presumably 5:22 - Theres 4 abilities at the bottom, presumably coinciding with each character in the party, when they use the skill they swap with the character 5:30 - When they used the 3rd ability, the icon didn't go away or go on cooldown, but changed, 6:14 they used what looked like an ultimate, and then the 3rd ability went on cooldown meanwhile the other characters skills got used and went on cooldown without an ultimate animation and the character that was used was one of the 5 stars instead of your main who is the 6, might need more info here on whats required to use that or maybe it wasnt fully implemented at this time 8:20 - the rail traversal seems buildable because it looks similar at the base to the other thing they built immediately after, those things seem to mine oriron, which it looks like it has to be built on those protruding rock platforms 9:45 - Theres a border, is that the determining factor for base building and the actual rest of the world? 9:55 - Regular Arknights does not have PvP, thatd be crazy tho itd be like some kind of, PvP Tower Defense type maps on Warcraft 3/Starcraft 2, I cant think of any off the top of my head, but similar to like hero line wars? would be interesting but i don't think they'd implement it.

Regarding that Lung girl in 0:41, she shares the same surname as Ch’en, as seen in the character screen in the gameplay demo. Possibly she is a direct descendant of Ch’en or distant relative. (Although so far the cues in PV seems to indicate that Endfield takes place in the future after the current AK timeline, so I’m betting she could lean towards being Ch’en’s descendant)

I love that devs chose to add tactical elements into this game because the base AK is high tactical and strategic involved game and also in the lore. Now I expect this game to have the same high quality gacha rate and still keep the policy of character's strength (in the main game, you don't need to pull gacha to max your character. They strong enough at 1 potential but they will stronger if you pulls them to max.) I quit genshin because even you got a 5 star character. You can't use them because at their 1 potential, they are unusable. You have to pull again and again and that feels like it's pay to win for me.

I had played the original arknights, until genshin came out,its a tower defense style game but instead of towers your using gacha characters Im super hyped to get my hands on endfield it looks amazing 🥰 Im also happy to see male and female characters, i always get sad when a game is waifus only, dont get me wrong i summon for female and male characters, but i like to summon for husbandos every once in a while 😂❤ I remember maining my man Silverash back in the day when i still played arknights lol

These games always have some cool parts to them and some cool moments. But I feel like they always fall short in key aspects such as quality of life and overall game design. I’ve tried many gatcha games but it seems like only hoyo have everything figured out. Played reverse 1999 today and it had promise. But we will see.

Small correction, the arknight’s lung species is actually dragon race influenced by the eastern depiction of dragons. More serpentine in nature and no wings. There’s actually two main dragon species too the second being the Draco (western dragons)

I believe that "oracle" and "administrator" are references to yostar's (the publisher's) other games. Idk what game the oracle references (Maybe blue archive)? but administrator is a reference to Aether Gazer 😁😁😁😁😁 (I'm a huge fan of aether gazer lol). Could be interesting! Endministrator is what the player in Enfield is called and I believe Oracle is what the player is called in another upcoming game called Ex Astris and Doctor is what the player is called in Arknights. All three of these are developed by Hypergryph and it seems like Hypergryph is making their own publishing company outside of china so Yostar might not be handling endfield or ex astris
