No, there's a reason why they're hiring a new Game Director. Likely, that game director will be working with a select few of the SSO team, but the SSO team alone will expand over the years. Likely same office space, with a few people working across both games, but they will be bringing new people on board to help execute it. They're not going to ditch this game, considering this new one is for a new target demographic and is a different storyline. They are Star Stable Entertainment after all, they're not going to ditch their horse game.

The underserved audience could be adults too. I know tons of adults who play star stable, but with the years star stable has gone quite "childish", and they have targeted a younger audience. I also feel like the world is kind of trying to step away from gender specific things, and I think it might be time for star stable to do that too, maybe it will be easier to customize your character to look however you want it. Maybe you can decide if you want it to look more to the "girly" side, or more to the "boyish" side, in terms of body forms. Sorry for my long text, and if I made some spelling mistakes, english is not my native language xD Edit: I got some comments about star stables storyline is based on a girl, and I know that, I just meant that they should add both genders, or none for the NEW game :P

I don't think they will, at least not for a long time. They're #1 in the horse adventure genre and have a lot of success from SSO, and besides, they're just now going all in by rebranding the game, creating a mobile version, writing books etc. That's a clear sign that they want to keep it running for many years still :)

Sone have suggested the LGBT community or disabled people, and it could be something like that 🤔 the only reason I thought about boys was because they are left out of SSO and there's been a lot of complaints about that - plus, if they made a game for boys, they might double the size of their player base because then they would have games for both genders

Based on the description of the vision it will most likely be something like a Tell Tale game, where the player can influence the story depending on the options they choose. It also sounds like the player will be a character in the story (similar to SSO) so if it IS gonna be a Tell Tale game, it will be an experimental one. But then again, having the player as a character in the story is pretty common with other video game genres - especially WRPGs. So if it turns out to be a WRPG like Star Stable, then it's not gonna be anything to write home about.

I've heard about this job listing not long ago. One of the members in an SSO Discord I mod in is often looking at the job listings and mentioned this particular one (along with a few others that may point to Star Stable Entertainment considering making more than one new game of sorts) This speculation is going to be hard on all grounds... this game could be geared more towards adults instead of kids... but if that is the case it would really need to be appealing or it will not do well. Sticking with a fantasy genre is a good thing but it's still a broad idea. On a good note though, whatever they do with this game as far as customization, Star Stable Entertainment could possible incorporate that into SSO... more or less with the ideas on how to customize the player character.

I think you're right when you say "younger boys", but I feel space might not be it. Since the Star Stable team is used to animating animals, and I'm guessing have a lot of animators who are skilled in that area _specifically,_ so I feel it would be more fantasy, like dragons and such. I do know that they might not move some SSO workers to this new mystery game, as they are obviously advertising people to work for them, but I still think they would uproot a few. Just probably not that far from what they're used to, aka, sticking with animals, not aliens. :3 Sorry for my grammar >w

This game will most likely be catered to adults. I've personally applied to a position! :) This DOES NOT MEAN they are abandoning SSO guys. Remember game development studios have lots of people and different sections such as modelers/animators etc. Note that a map takes 10x longer than a model.

What I'm afraid of is the fact that this game might aim for a more general audience, which was not really the case with SSO. The fact that this is a game for girls with horse and with a multiplayer part is kinda unique and a developed story (Alicia imo is more focused on the races and the others games don't have SSO's ambition). And maybe that game will not be as popular in his "field" than SSO (like all the MMO that is released but close or don't have a lot of players on) so that kinda make me anxious about this "new game". But I'm sure they will do a good job :)

Even if the game doesnt focus on horses, I do hope the sso team will use their knowledge of horses to make mounts for it. Sso has one of the most advanced mount movements in any game ive ever played. There isnt a single mmo on the market that can even compaire, and it would be amazing if this technology were used in a game with fighting and more adventure.

I think JustAnotherPixel got beta testing access... And she was playing StarStables " New Game " which is in beta mode. So it does have horses in it, but you don't buy horses. You tame wild horses with foods and do some other things. Its more of an animated game type thing, I think it was called Wildheart. Not that sure tho.

I hope it will have a offline and online mode. So you can play with other players and without. And a option to put PVP on and off if there is going to be PVP. I myself don't like to PVP but I know some other people do. If there even is going to be PVP in that game of course. I will most likely try to play it none the less what the game is about. I do hope the game will take a dark turn and the atmosphere will be moody. Because Star Stable isn't. I think that would be interesting. Edit: A cold environment would be cool also!

I think they're making a game for older players. After all, Star Stable entertainment has been going strong for 15 years at this point, so anyone who grew up playing the older games don't care about horses anymore and have moved on, or people who grew up with horses may feel that sso is too childish and unrealistic. So it would make sense for Star Stable to cash in again and keep fans with them, even after they've moved on from horses.

I’m honestly interested in this😄 I don’t have any idea, what the game will be about, but there’s still two main fears I have about it. The first one is, that the team will try too hard to perfect the other game’s lore, that they’ll start to neglect sso and it’s story. The second is more complicated one. As we could see in sso, the villains aren’t much developed and in my opinion, doesn’t represent peoples with mental illnesses well, because they’re constantly portrayed like competing with the soulriders and their evil side is all their character is about, which is already wrong and shouldn’t be happening, because it can cause some stigma on said peoples. I’m still hopeful sso will repair that and give them more character outside of their missions. I’m just scared, that this will happen again with the new game. But then again, we know completely nothing about it yet. Even tho, I’m still somewhat worried about the villains, because they’re the ones who helps create the story with their character and should be done right, because nowadays, peoples with mental illnesses doesn’t have much representation. Or maybe it doesn’t even have to be those types of peoples, but I’m worried still. Guess we’ll have to see.

@@eleanornightwalker Sadly, I’ve already paid for three books and I can’t offer more😕 I’ve read few free chapters when the book got released, but it didn’t convince me to buy it. I guess I just don’t like the style of writing, or so. Maybe at least two chapters, where some intense things happen, like we meet the villains, because that’s main interest of mine, getting to know the characters and see why they’re like this. I hope, that when they’ll be updated, we’ll get more insight into their backstories and character in the game, because the dark riders now look very shallow😕

I do think that the game will take place in Jorvik, after all their website says "We develop games with a mission - to delight girls around the world! Games where you can be the hero of your own adventure on the magical island of Jorvik." But maybe it will be on another side of Jorvik? And that is also why I definitely don't think they would make a game for boys - they think that too many games are targeted at boys already.

Like everything else it's a possibility and 2 a game takes a year or more to get up and running and the fact they are looking for more designers, shows its going to be at least 1 to 2 years before they ever launch the game. I have a few questions. Do you think this might impact Star Stables? I mean do you think it could slow down bigger projects in SSO like creating body shapes or new areas. I might think that it will be a game that is more realistic then dragons and wizards like Star Stables. SSO is a beautiful mix of fantasy and realism creating a perfect escape. Other game titles almost always suffer when the company puts their budget towards a new game ..The Sims is a good example. I think it would be great if SSO targets everybody in their new game. I for one, would really love to see boy characters in this new game and dragons. If SSO also allowed us to change our height and make up our own names, I feel like that would be really great. Something else I’d love to see is an audience that revolves around teenagers and up. I feel like SSO has done really well targeting younger people, so it would be nice to see a change for once. The game will probably not be free, so we’ll most likely have to pay to access all the quests and the entire map. I’d love to apply for a job as a design creator, but I just don’t have the time. I don’t even think a 13 year old kid can be hired... I hope that the game has different realms, like a medieval realm, fantasy realm, and some other realms that I haven’t even thought about just yet. Ooh if our characters had magical powers and could have wings, that would be so cool! I hope SSO can add that in if that’s the type of game they are going for. For the medieval realm, I was thinking a big map with streets, markets, towns, and a castle in the centre. Maybe there could be jobs that our characters did to open up other realms (like sailing or working as herbalists or going hunting). I also hope that there are different types of people: Assassins, Knights, Royal Guard, Thieves, Merchants, Witches, Wizards, Avians (people with wings), and anything else that’s super cool. I think it would also be nice if we could combine the types of people and design them to our liking. Maybe that’s too much to ask? There would also be awesome mounts like wolves, dragons, horses (because it would be nice to see some cool horses in game), unicorns, Pegasus (idk the plural), griffins, hypogriphs, and tigers. I hope SSO looks through these video comments lol and adds in some things from here..

I'm so surprised that they're releasing Wildwoods this soon, I mean they said around new years that there would be no new areas and yet HERE WE ARE already satisfied by Starshine Ranch and then we get a new area anyways 😂 it makes me wonder if we're gonna get the darker main story quests they promised though, they may have postponed it to give us the area instead 🤔

Hi! I was thinking, maybe it could be about minorities? And it could have some disabled main character? They are not seen at all in games, but we do see some minorities in SSO (Rania being the most famous). There's a lot to exploit in this area, maybe that's where they're heading.

Judging by the complaints they've had about not having boy characters, I think this game will be aimed at boys and girls, just nothing to do with horses.

i dont expect it do be in 2021 but at the very mosttt 2023. and i REALLY REALLY hope that its..maybe anime theme~? i meannn, it might be for young or teen girls that like anime? anyways, i really hope its anime theme like Genshin Impact (great game guys go check it out) because that would be really interesting
