Let's take a Retro Road Trip all the way back to Disney MGM Studios in 2003 to take a ride on the original Star Tours!

I miss the original Star Tours. It was a great version of the ride and now it has been modified to a 3D version when C-3PO started taking Rex’s place.

I remember going on this ride as a kid in 2003 - today I’m a cast member at galaxy’s edge and I always go on it when I’m at Hollywood as a guest. I knew they renovated and updated the ride, but I didn’t remember vividly enough to really know what was changed aside from replacing Rex with C-3PO (Rex crashed into batuu and is now the DJ at the cantina!) I figured the changes were more extensive but wow, the whole exterior, the queue/pre-show and even the ride vehicle look remarkably the same as they do today. Glad to know the current version isn’t a far cry from the original!
