Okay, keep detached nacelles. Lose struts use energy stats instead. Cleaner design, plus you can variate the strut geometry inflight.

I just realised in star trek discovery they found the ISS enterprise they can probably convert it into the USS enterprise and use programmable matter and add a new ship to the fleet detached naccelles and saucer with programmable matter

I honestly can see them using it as a museum piece. A genuine 23rd century era starfleet (granted terran yes) that is the copy of the most historical ship in the organization? Any history fan would go "Spock and Kirk stood here..."

The nacelles are nice. Always liked the idea of having them floating to better adjust the warp field. But the separated saucer... I know personal transports and such, but turbolifts are still a thing and for this they it should stay connected to the engineering section.
@EgeSkywalker11711 күн бұрын
Prototype model was exactly like this. Saucer section was integrated to the neck and main engineering hull. I changed the final model because of reddit comments… and finally understand that I cant make everyone happy 😄

The design stays true to the style set down by STD. However, that deflector dish may need workshopping. It's very flat, it could use something to make it feel a bit more 3D.

I haven't watched Discovery. What's the reason for the warp nacelles and the saucer floating off the secondary hull?

Cool design, but what happens when Starfleet reaches 1701-Z, do they use double letters?? Don't care for the nacelles being separate from the pylons though, too risky if the ship should end up in a battle with an adversary and the nacelles get knocked loose and windup spinning out of control hitting the Enterprise.
@EgeSkywalker11713 күн бұрын
Probably they’re gonna use two letters just like 1701-AA, 1701-AB etc. Also we use this system in archaeology to identify artifacts’ date and category

probably... But we never see the new Enterprise in Disco. so I decided to model a new Enterprise within the original aspects of Constitution Class. I never liked the 32nd Century Constitution. something feels odd with this ship but with this design, it feels like that's how it should look.
@dcdrew317 күн бұрын
It doesn't matter, they will never need ships that far in the future! Not with the advancement of Mr. Scott's Transporter Technology from ST movie2009. Other engineers will have a crew transporting all over the galaxy & back to earth for 6pm dinner! 🤣🤣

@OptimusWombat19 күн бұрын
Why would you use "E" that far into the future? We already have the "F" in the late 24th Century, the "G" in the early 25th Century, and the "J" some time in the 26th Century. When you consider how quickly they went from 1701 to 1701-G (8 ships in about 150 years), it's a minor miracle that it took 800 years for the next 11 ships (1701-H to 1701-R).
God no! I'd rather see an advancement of the Vesta class as the future of SF.
