My top ten ship arrivals and reveals (solo ships only, fighters are counted with their ship).

After completion, I did realize that I had forgotten some iconic and epic entrances, such as those of the USS Enterprise in Star Trek: The Motion Picture and the UNSC Infinity in Halo 4.

Oh yes, absolutely. Even though it was the first Star Trek movie I ever saw at 7 years old, and I had seen it literally hundreds of times since,... seeing it during a screening at the STLV convention last year, the moment still had tears running down my face. Easily the greatest moment, and the only appearance of Mr. Michael Okuda's first ever production work.

It's from a video game, but still: Halo 4 Spartan Ops the reveal of the USNC Infinity. In a franchise where the Earth ships were always outsized and outgunned, we're for introduced to a walk thru showing just how massive the ship is. Not only is the ship filled with fighters and transports, it serves as a Spartan base with training facilities, tanks and artillery and the coolest AI in the franchise. Then when its time to show what the ship can do it exits hyper space by running through a Covenant Super carrier and then launches a squadron of frigates.

Pegasus saving Galactica would have been my number two spot, only beaten for the top spot by the Adama Manoeuvre over New Caprica. Not just for the visual spectacle of 6 million tons of battlestar burning through the atmosphere, spewing Vipers as she plummeted towards the ground, but for the emotianal, air punching payoff too after cliffhanging us at the end of Season 2 and giving us months suspense between seasons and then weeks of build up, wondering how the hell Adama was going to pull off the rescue. But hey, this isn't my list

I'd like to add when Galactica first found Pegasus, the exchange with Adama and Admiral Caine (Michelle Forbes) was pretty special. The tension suddenly relieved when we find out we're all one big happy fleet. Thank you too for the 1701-D in second, best thing I'd seen in years when she came back.

I like the reveal (To Captain Kirk, anyway) of the refit Enterprise (non-A) from ST:TMP as Scotty takes him over to the space dry dock in the shuttle pod. The visual reveal, along with the music, was absolutely breathtaking. 💙 Also, same movie, the reveal of V’Ger fighting the Klingons.

As an opening scene, it is epic, but as a ship reveal, although great, it is not the greatest in my opinion. Also, even though it is near the bottom of this list, it is still close to the top overall, as I have another 20+ arrivals in the drafts of parts 2 and 3. The way I do these videos, making 8th in part 1 is a greater honor than 2nd in part 3 (usually).

I feel like the first sighting of the USG Ishimura in Dead Space deserves a spot. Or say when the Lewis and Clark first encounters the Event Horizon... There's a host of great ship arrivals/reveals just in Space Battleship Yamato's remake alone. Definitely recommend checking that one out.

I agree with others, the Arrival of Delenn in the Whitestar, in Babylon 5 episode "Severed Dreams" should be here: "This is Delenn of the Minbari, Babylon 5 is under our protection. I guess it would depend on why you or anyone thought a ship arriving was special. Any ship arriving to aid in battle would be special especially unexpected. I never thought to do a similar list but I think I would include reveals that had other impact than rescues. Some would be:: The Enterprise C from Yesterday's Enterprise. The three cloaked Klingon ships to defend the Enterprise in The Defector episode The first view of the ship coming over Devil's Monument in CE#K Seeing the USS Defiant in the Asteroid in Enterprise mirror universe The arrival of the ship in the original The Day The Earth Stood Still The shuttle approaching and docking at the space station in 2001 more to come...

My takeaway from this is that "Skywalker Films" has only ever seen one Star Wars film, never watched B5, or Lexx. None of these would even make it into my top 50. Probably my all-time favorite 'reveal' is the Klingon BoP de-cloaking in front of the Whaling vessel...the buildup was intence, the 'flash' ("donk") makes me smile every time, then the 'reveal' sends the hairs on my arms and neck into immediate 'attention'...

One reason the Vengeance ranked higher than the Titan is the style of Lower Decks (particularly the people). If I liked the style more, the Titan would have ranked above the Vengeance.

The real question is, how come those torps are still functional (capable of exploding) with a human inside it? Does a torpedo have so much redundancy? Because if so, they could be made a lot smaller, and starships could carry more.

I feel i have to mention the UNCF Andromeda's entrance in Space Battleship Yamato 2202 because that was probably one of the most destructive entrances of a ship in sci-fi history, i say probably because as far as what i have watched it is the most destructive but i haven't watched many things of the type so who knows what i have missed there. You could also have Yamatos reveal in 2202 and her reveal in 2199.

I prefer the reveal of the Macross from the movie "Do You Remember Love". While the original Macross had better colors, the Megaroad variant just looked better, especially with the ARMD's for arms, rather than the Prometheus and Daedalus. More symmetrical. And more canonical if you include Macross Plus

@@BigKnGa My favorite aspect of the Battle of the Binary Stars is, for the first time in ages, Starships were treated like STARSHIPS, not fightercraft. A long-ass battle, with weapons fire impacting shields, and after a sustained engagement only two starships were lost and five birds of prey. Unlike DS9 where ships blow up in single shots (my only real complaint about that particular show)

Also, an honorable mention could be the reveal of the Enterprise in Star Trek Discovery... how they dropped clues about which starship was joining the Discovery, until the final full view of the Enterprise and the awe of everyone, including the audience, and the Alexander Courage fanfare to complete the scene.
