The Nerd boldly goes where no bad game should ever go, by beaming down a collection of games based upon the sci-fi series Star Trek, made for the Vectrex, Atari 2600, ColecoVision and NES. This is Angry Video Game Nerd Episode 49.
Star Trek is one of the biggest phenomenons in the history of pop culture. The original television series was created by Gene Roddenberry and aired for 3 seasons from 1966-1969. It has been spun off into several different series such as Star Trek: TNG and Voyager to name just a few as well as a whole movie franchise and reboots by J.J. Abrams. The show launched the careers of many actors such as William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy, and Patrick Stewart just to name a few.
With the mass production of collectibles and toys and the advent of arcades and home systems, Star Trek found its way to the world of video games. In this episode the Nerd boldly goes where no nerd has gone before, and takes a look at Star Trek games for Vectrex, Atari 2600, and the Colecovision, which are all basically the same.
Lastly the Nerd reviews the NES Star Trek 25th Anniversary game. The game was originally released in 1992 by Ultra Games and has surprisingly good cut-scenes for its time. That being said its still frustrating, confusing, and cryptic. We also learn not to mess with Klingons. They don't mess around.

Star Trek fight choreography check list - 1. Grabs onto ceiling or pipe of some description and kicks out with both legs. 2. Double handed clobber. 3. Judo chop. 4. Vault / throw into wall.

Takfarinas Abdiouene grandfather paradox. You'll kill the production. Then there would be nothing for avgn to shit on. Meaning you won't have videos to go back to show. And the games won't stop being produced. So they WILL make them, and avgn will shit on them. And you have videos to go back in time to stop them from making it so avgn doesn't have material so that you don't have proof so that theyndont stop production so that avgn has material and you have proof to stop them so that theyndont make it so that avgn has material so that you have proof so that they will stop it so that avgn doesn't hav

I've been playing thru the avgn episode games for jokes and Star Trek on NES is surprisingly good. The graphics and sound is awesome and they do a perfect job of recreating the experience of watching the original series. While this is its greatest strength, it is also its greatest weakness. It doesnt quite feel like a game, more like a hybrid between a game and watching Star Trek, so after a level or two the novelty wears off and you dont want to play anymore. Kinda like when you're watching Star Trek and after an episode or two you want to do something else. Very faithful indeed.

I actually really liked the NES game at the time. You have to hand it to them for actually trying to create an experience like the TV show. At the time it was much more likely they'd turn it into some crappy side-scrolling shooter that really had little to do with the series.

It is def actual Klingon, but it might be nonsense. I only know because we use the word "Q'apla" at my work (well, at least the IT department uses it). The Klingon that Mike is speaking uses that word when he enters the room. Btw, I do not speak Klingon other than a few words, so I do not know what Mike is saying, but if anyone does please post translations!
