DS9 was always my favorite serious, not only because the cast was diverse but because it was so different from Next Gen. But yeah, as a Latino kid, seeing a black man as the captain, even back then blew my mind. I'll be 45 this year, and I still watch the entire series at least once a year.

@@ChairmanMeow1 Neither did I. He was dull and a weak captain at first. I liked him because he was vulnerable. He made mistakes and learned from them. He was also the only captain with a kid and that got to have a romance, and eventually get married.

Jeffrey Combs voiced the AMIGUS in Lower Decks, and while a very tiny role, Marc Alaimo Played a tiny bit part as a Zandozan bounty hunter in the Last Starfighter. Colm Meaney also played a DEA agent in Con Air.

Thanks so much for this one! DS9 was always my fav, so character rich. But had heard that many Star Trek fans did not like it due to it being a stationary station rather than a ship traveling thru space. So IMO they were missing the whole point of so many great characters … introducing so much galactic diversity that who knows, we as humans need to be ready for any day now … please.

Micheal Dorn also played Worfs Grandfather in The undiscovered country. He's representing Kirk and Bones in the klingon courthouse. That's such a good film and I highly recommend the pc game klingon Academy that acts as it prequel. The cutscenes are magnificent and the story building sets you up perfectly for the film.

Yes, that would be awesome. But it will be interesting how he would come back to being human again after spending all that time as one of the aliens in the wormhole. On another note, I'd like for Avery Brooks to comeback and do a remake tv series of "77 Sunset Strip". He would play Efram Zimbelest Jr.'s role, but would play it "cool", like Hawk, & would run the PI agency, Hell, you could have Cirroc Lofton come back as "Kookie", and be the man on the street with all the angles, and the women. Michael Dorn could come back as a tough LAPD detective/contact for Avery's character. Man, that would be a cool way to reunite the DS9 cast that are still with us.

Love Deep Space Nine! Have watched all of the StarTrek series. This one is my favourite. All those strange species. Wonderfull! Don't understand any of the technical stuff(who would?) So,that's quite boring. But other than that it's exiting,sometimes sad,sometimes funny. What I like most of all are the Ferengis,espially my beloved Quark,with his love of latimun. And ,strange as it may sound,I think Gul Dukat is a very handsome man!

Star Trek TNG was fairly new when I attended my first Trek convention and Colm Meaney was the guest speaker. I was delighted to find him reprising the role of Miles O'Brien in DS9 and he certainly contributed many great moments to the show. A talented actor and a genuinely nice guy, Colm was also a good convention speaker and I remember that first Trek convention with fond memories.

I thought Colm Meaney was the first to transition from TNG to DS9, I remember the episode where he appeared on the bridge and said goodbye to everyone, long before TNG finished. The first time I saw Rene Auberjonois was as the Priest in MASH from the early 70's.

Star Trek in all its iterations has been with me since at 12, at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay Cuba I saw the test episode “The Cage” featuring a myriad of persons Roddenberry picked to “flesh out” the crew of USS Enterprise, I’m anticipating next Series in development due to strikes. Paramount plus,promising, Section 31 Starfleet Security Episodic stories, another series I’ve heard from watching The Ready Room hosted by Wil “shut up Wesley” Wheaton will have Jonathan Frakes, Cdr Riker involved in some capacity!

Equally, Penny Johnson Jerald was on the show as a guest for several episodes of the last season before it was cancelled as a great villain character.
