I enjoyed Star Trek 5. But that's because I worked with George Murdock for 16 months in a play in LA. I absolutely loved his voice! And he was personally very charming.

"In Pale Moonlight" should have been #1. No one ever messed the Romulans up like Garak and Sisko did.

The Bird of Prey exploding shot (with the Klingon getting sucked in to space) was used multiple times, even in the DS9's multiple battle scenes.

The last episode of Enterprise should have been near the top or even number one on the list of mistakes. Placing the entire show as a program running on the hollodeck on Enterprise Generations. The crew interaction with Riker also tainted the last scene of Archer hugging T'pal. And the writers were so lazy that they tossed away the perfect ending of Archer's speach to open the Federation. Even placing his speach to the smaller group from earlier in the episode to the end of the last episode would have been preferable to a snide remark that the superior TNG counselor had memorized it years ago. Slap upon slap.

I don't think we ever see Sisko again. Unlike Shatner and Stewart, who are only mildly eccentric, Brooks is full-tilt eccentric, and more power to him, but not the sort who wants to go back to revisit the past. He doesn't need the money, and he doesn't have the interest, and again more power to him.

100% wrong on the Child episode they were talking about what could be done since it was an unknown life form and they had 0 clue what it wanted and if Picard wanted to he had EVERY right to terminate the unknown child entity

In all fairness here, Warf didn't "murder" Mart'og. Given the cultural (and I'm sure legal) challenge to combat in Klingon society.

By far, "Into the Pale Moonlight," is the best of trek. It was film excellence, from the log style filming, to the most amazing acting. The event itself changed everything in the trek universe, as well it made a permanent change for Trek mythos and ethic.

I know you need subjects for a list like this, particularly interesting ones, but these are some VERY hot takes. I disagree with a number of these. The Kazon cannot be overrated since they were never rated at all. The Borg were always menacing, but the more you feature any big bad, the more familiar they become. Your argument for Lore is that he mostly succeeded because of the ineptitude of the people around him, but that only means that he was a great villain who knew how to exploit others weakness for his own advantage. As for the Klingons, I feel like they're only on this list to spice up controversy. They have always been fearsome foes. Just watch The Way Of The Warrior pts. 1 and 2. The Federation is lucky that they are generally on their side. Lastly, Q is heavily debatable as a villain at all. He's more of a stern parent. Most of the time his actions, while sometimes harsh, were in the best interest of the humans he was focused on. Particularly in the case of Picard and the Enterprise crew.

Doesn't this pretty much include all Federation rivals? The show pumped up rivals, but when the time came, the showrunners were just too infatuated with their leads to challenge them.
@annieworroll437318 сағат бұрын
I'm not entirely sure Gowron should count as an assassination. It was a proper challenge in line with Klingon law done by a Starfleet officer with dispensation to do so, so it wouldn't be out of line on the Federation side of things either.
@acd683518 сағат бұрын
I'd argue that Q isn't a villian, but an anti-hero, trying to do good in his own way, even if he breaks the rules and annoys people like Picard along the way, in order to teach Picard etc a lesson on being human and navigating the wild west of space.

Gowron's death is essentially just a common, ritualistic change of power...not an assassination. Gorkon should have been number one. Top 3 at least

I despised Sisko for his pompous reaction to Garak killing Vreenek. Not only was it ridiculously high-minded, placing his own discomfort above billions of lives, but it was hypocritical. In fact, have you considered do a "Ten most hypocritical moments by Star Trek "good" characters" video? Janeway, Picard, Janeway, Phlox, Janeway, Sisko, Janeway, and Odo should do for starters.

Technically Worf's duel with Gowron was not assassination but rather a legitimate way under Klingon law to install a new high consular.

"At oh-eigth-hundred hours, station time... the Romulan Empire formally declared war against the Dominion. They've already struck fifteen bases along the Cardassian border. So, this is a huge victory for the good guys! This may even be the turning point of the entire war! There's even a "Welcome to the Fight" party tonight in the wardroom!... So... I lied. I cheated. I bribed men to cover up crimes of other men. I am an accessory to murder. But the most damning thing of all... I think I can live with it... And if I had to do it all over again... I would. Garak was right about one thing - a guilty conscience is a small price to pay for the safety of the Alpha Quadrant. So I will learn to live with it...Because I can live with it...I can live with it. Computer - erase that entire personal log." -- Benjamin Sisko

The Kazon were barely better than the Pakleds. The former could at least figure out how to use technology but it was clear they were not creating it. Hell they didn't even know how to synthize water yet were using energy weapons and FTL ships. Q was always a boring character. Often the low point for TNG along with any episodes with Luxana Troi. However to give some credit, Q's departure in Picard did give us a good closing, which they later ruined, for the character and could now make some of his previous episodes more tolerable. The Borg started to lose their edge with the Hugh episode onward.

I would like to Add... Worf has been directly responsive for 2 klingon chancellors coming to lead the Klingon Empire. Its kinda fascinating actually cause I think its kinda apparent that Worf could actually be Khaless its just he hasn't gotten to the point he goes back in time yet to become it. So the "return" of Khaless was more likely him actually being born in the first place.
