7:51 redemption is kind of a strong word. It’s more like the episode hilariously side steps the heck out of the situation with a non-sentient blob creature.

There was no redemption 🙈🙈🙈🤣🤣🤣

I think there was redemption- the show outright says that the Federation has resources (and higher authorities than a single captain) available to pursue an ethical solution that Janeway didn't have because she was cut off from the Federation. I took that as "normally we wouldn't condone this course of action but these were not normal circumstances so Janeway did the best she could with what she had"

There is no ethical solution to the Tuvix problem, and I love that they acknowledge that.

So here's my solution to the Tuvix problem, which I think works if you get his permission beforehand. It's tricky and might not be something the Voyager crew would even know how to do. Heavily sedate Tuvix and use the transporters to create a duplicate Riker style. The problem with that is how much information do they have on the process and can they even recreate the correct conditions, but assuming Starfleet captain's have access to that information and they can find suitable conditions, do that. This leaves you with two identical people with exactly the same memories. The moment they both materialise, transport one of them again and split them. Technically, you still split a Tuvix, but one that is never conscious as a separate individual from the one that doesn't get split. That is my least unethical solution.

@@wendyheatherwood I actually thought something similar, lol. Including the Riker transporter solution 🤣🤣🤣 I didn’t think of the double as non sentient though so I would have still killed a Tuvix oops Hahhahahaha damn these trek ethical problems!!!

I wonder what happened to the anti-borg armor that the Voyager had. Although the Borg assimilated it also assimilate the pathogen. Which is why the whole last season of Picard makes sense. But what happened to that technology of the armor and transphasic Torpedoes that's 30 years ahead of its I doubt that you can just leave that around during a shipyard of a museum. Somebody would want to know how to get access to that technology if they gain access to voyager's data banks

I really still think maybe Mariner's Parents getting a divorce majorly effect her's self confidences and trusting in others. Mariner was a rising star Cadet at Starfleet Academy.

Everyone so quick to judge Janeway, but the whole VOY crew disliked Tuvix. Never forget that scene where he stood on the bridge and begged for his life, and not a single crew member said anything. They were all willing to murder him, even Kes.

True, haha, but in the end, the decision is the Captain’s alone, no matter what the consultation 🥲
