Star Trek Lower Decks Season 5 Episode 5 Review - So many EASTER EGGS!

I liked the ending because it wasn't that difficult for such a complex problem. Thinking that a complex problem requires a complex solution isn't always correct, plus the doctor even gave a complex solution to the problem just to make it sound good. Plus the best part was at the end when the Captain went after that giant bat with a dustpan and a little brush, with all the yelling and watch outs. Had me in tears laughing.

That might just happen. The show runners are setting up spinoffs with this season. Also that El aurian commander is an interesting character.

I thought the episode mention the fact that the reason the wells were messed up was because whatever they caught was an actual life form that needed to take over people.

I think you should wait to post the reviews each week. As someone living on the east coast of the US I usually see your vids before I go to work. Meaning that I ignore it in the morning and by the time I get home and watch the episode I’ve forgotten about the vid.

Not seen the episode yet but I recall the Acamar being a planet and the “Gatherers” a pirate-like group of descendants who left their homeworld. I wonder if this implies that the negotiations Picard hosted ended up leading to a failure of the “reunification” plans.

What is with the whales in star fleet uniforms? Did I miss something? Are these whales from earth or another planet, or are they the whales from the alien probe from Star trek IV voyage home? Are these different whales from the Xindi in Enterprise? A breakdown in all the aquatic species in star trek could be a cool idea for an episode. Thanks!

You're right; the episode was solved too fast. The doctor should have done what Bones would have done and invent a hypo-spray to force the alien to leave the whale. One spray and psst, problem solved.

Well excuse them for wanting to wrap everything up so easily. Come on, it was about the base so we had to see the base. That they were like that because they were overlooked and ignored. Freeman as usual made it about her and how she cannot accept that life is about changes good or bad. We cannot be all captains with egos the size of our ships. Base 80 would be good place for you because you can maje it better and make it matter.

I appreciate the Easter Eggs and all of that and it's obvious the writers are huge fans of the franchise. I also realize it's supposed to be a comedy...but, it's completely ridiculous to think that any Starfleet personnel would still be wearing Enterprise era uniforms in the late 24th Century. If the show wasn't supposed to theoretically be 'canon' then it wouldn't matter...but apparently from what I understand they are dying on that hill. So...🤷🏻‍♂️. It's whatever, I guess. This season has been a bit lackluster so far, aside from nitpicky 'canon' issues anyway.
