They were never able to get ceaseless momentum to stop affecting maelstrom torpedos on the console side. So they are super overpowered on console.

Thanks for the video! Regarding EPG: the "Proton Eruptor Module" from the "Lo'laH Intel Dyson Science Destroyer" is part of the current EPG meta, and is (at least for the time being and despite its novelty) available with the restricted T6 coupons from the event campaign.

Anyone else's login attempts saying "Unable to Authenticate: lost connection to account server" this morning? Star Trek Online will have maintenance on all platforms at 5am PT today, 12/11. Estimated downtime is 8.5 hours for PC and 7.5 hours for console (includes quarterly infrastructure maintenance). Thank you for your patience!

The Cryptic guys really didn't slouch shaking up the meta and giving us some very affordable, fun and powerful new toys to play with this year. Let's hope DECA will continue this trend and bring some innovative new mechanics into builds.

@@realplonk They still had old Cryptic staff working on everything until very recently. Perhaps it was a cooperative effort? After all, the new guys had to be trained. Either way, the stagnation of the Borticus era seems to be over. Also surprisingly few nerfs of the new stuff, so the systems team seems to test their stuff more diligently. Or just care less about the meta impact and balance.

They do seem to be dropping more meta stuff as 'freebies' or C-Store these days, rather than exclusively lockbox. Five Magicks and the Vovin, for example. However, the crucial Trait (UD) is still locked away for us that don't have the money to drop on getting it. The Eleos haste on Experimentals is a proper game changer for the likes of the Hexa. Thanks for the update Spence!

I wouldn't say UD is crucial. It's a nice stat stick, but is by no means a linchpin. You can replace it with any number of damage traits and only lose a bit off your final multiplier.

@@MaraMakesContent True, though it does seem to be ubiquitous on high end runs. Would you say Uncon is more crucial for a Universal heavy build? I perceive that it is for such a universal heavy meta, whilst UD is good for the CrtH/CrtD stacks off the back of it.

i disagree, almost all summer/winter event ships have been really good over the last 9 yrs i have been playing, 3 years ago they gave away the jelly fish ship for free, the ground terran set for free... some years are better than others but over all the BiG 3 events, Summer, winter and anniversary rewards are usually all really good

When I was testing out some clicky heavy builds I found swapping in Agony redistributor micro quantums and adaptive emergency systems in every single one of my dps builds did more dps vs isomags. Immolating phaser lance seems alot less necessary on all my alts now and I find myself playing some of my older ships more so its a win/win o

Yeah, these are a big part of what enable my Mirror Engle build. The uptime/repeatability of high statstick /damage is just nuts.

Just be very aware that it's almost complete junk IF you're not using cannons and Cannon Scatter Volley. If you have a beam/sci/torp build, forget it. I'm not exaggerating.

Coming back after so many years the power scale is wild. I have a request if you are ever so inclined to cover a themed tank build for KDF and Rom. What ships would work best (much easier for KDF) weapons, hanger pets (Type 7s are out) and fun ideas to start pushing past the basics but still keeping the STO fantasy of staying within a faction. Also I would love your take on the ship Trait: Majority / Minority and the viability for a secondary / filler tanking or carrier choice. Just a strange trait that is not talked about and not even listed in the traits for hanger pets on the wiki.

Red Matter Capacitor should help offset the power drain of the console toggles, as should Onboard Dilithium Recrystalizer

Neither are worth using for this purpose. RMC has incredibly low uptime, and Recrystalizer is just a terrible slot value unless you're an extremely low development player, and even then it's really barely necessary. The Aux loss can be dealt with by using batteries (which if you're using FPNA you should be anyways), the shield power loss is really not that big of a deal, and the engine power loss is dealt with by slotting the console in a tactical console slot. It's really not a big deal to handle.

8 1/2 hours, that should be plenty of time to replace their servers so everything would work properly but call me skeptical.

Lorca set is still good for many builds, but at > 1m DPS levels it has started to fall off.

Had it been weapons and the toggle consumed 15 weapons power would have been complaints. Going with engine power means people will use that portion of it.

If you're using Uncon and Vovin, focus on clicky consoles.

Say we have two ships whose only difference is another forward weapon slot versus a experimental weapon slot. Would the DHC be better than the hex cannons?

Will depend on the environment, but Hexa have been beating a DHC for me lately.

I don't even bother with Isomags and I already have 1 million dps with all clickies in every slot but two. There's no need for an Isomag in a build at this stage in the game.

You didn't mention which console slot you used for that event ship ability. Did you use it in a tac or eng or sci or uni?

My bad, Eng or Uni will be best. Basically give up an Isomag for it in most cases, or a Tac console if you must.

Unfortunately this META doesn't exist as a viable option on the Playstation side. The UI for PS makes Clicky consoles essentially worthless as the "Wheel click" interface is slow and has a random layout. If you can't auto set a console, it's usually not worth using more than 1 or 2 as there will never be enough time to navigate a full L1 wheel and fire something off in a reasonable time.

Lag much worse now. Tool trays still randomly screwed up, as they have been for 14 years. Ship tailor bug still messed up. Nothing spectacular for long time players still, as has been the case for most of the year. Dil market garbage and unusable, worse than all 14 years combined. Am I supposed to be impressed?
