Amazing! This scene is loaded with Star Trek spirit. How could anyone NOT use it!!!!

Took too long. Also it would have worked better with Spock and McCoy. And you know the rest…

Moviegoers who'd get butt-rot would spread the word that the film was tiresome and not worth the attention.

it was funny, However if your a fan of ST:7 which I am one, I agree with the spirit that the original opening of the movie had. This was more like ST: 5 row row your boat...lol Or when Kirk was climbing the mountain, which definitely should have been cut, because it was too dumb. Don't get me wrong, though, I do have a special place in my heart for 'row row your boat' scene a little bit. But the ST:7 bottle opening with the music is a serene cut! Would not trade it. It is nice to have seen this extra scene.

Because it doesn’t add anything to the story, overall. Having it start when them boarding the Enterprise-B is just as effective.

Because it holts the Movie and is not needed for the Story? Its a wonderful Scene, yes...but needed? No! :)

Cool! Looks like they later used Kirk's skydiving costume for B'Elanna in "Extreme Risk."

I remember reading the Young Adults novel version of this movie back in the mid-1990s. This scene was in the first chapter (or the prologue?) of that novel. The last line in that part of the novel was as follows: "For old times sake?"

There have been some Star Trek novels taking place between the events of Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country & Star Trek VII: Generations. One of them Star Trek: The Ashes of Eden, written by William Shatner, taking place 6 months before the launch of the Enterprise NCC-1701-B & James T. Kirk's mysterious disappearance in deep space.

Read this in the screenplay before seeing the film; didn't see it in the theaters. Always wondered what happened to it.

This was a much better intro to Generations than what was signed off on. A shame...

So where are the "crew vapoourised from Nexus ribbon on Bridge", "Geordi bathing", "Data noises" and rescuing patients from the crashed Enterprise-D sickbay where Dr. Crusher asks for a ride on a strecher?

I would cut all the scenes of the bottle they cut in with that footage, except for the final shot of it exploding against the ship. To distracting. This should really be put back in the film!
@pointbeingproductions57963 ай бұрын
Yeah it was a rough edit though. Maybe with the credits and score it might have flowed a bit better? But I'm with you. It was uneven and distracting.

There's no "Star Trek Spirit" here. Just a fancy skydiving scene that makes us wonder why we have transporters in the first place. Now explain why that bottle makes noise in space (or why it's contents didn't flashboil in a vacuum).

@MichaelFougere3 ай бұрын
Right because orbital skydiving makes way more sense than transporting down to a planet or to another ship. Why not just jump inside a photon torpedo and be shot at other ships to get over to them. And getting back up to the ship from the surface of a planet? Eh who cares we'll figure that out later YOLO am I right?😂 What do we even have these stupid transporters for anyway?
