Maybe the logic is they assume all us Star Wars nerds are going to be focused on May 25th for "Obi-Wan Kenobi" and they can rule that week. Though the Top Gun sequel is coming out the same week as "Kenobi", so...maybe there trying to keep Tom Cruise happy as possible while they're fighting with him over how Mission Impossible 7 and 8 will come out (Paramount wants 45-day theatrical run, then streaming for at least MI 7 vs. Cruise demanding standard 90-day theatrical run for it).

La'an's eyes as she's being scanned by that device, I don't know why but using the frame-by-frame playback keys to play that scene back and forth has got me in stitches for some reason, the way her eyes cross as it waves over her bemused face, it just tickles me in a way that causes illogical laughter!!! :P

At 8:51 they look to be wearing black leather excursion jackets with mission patches, very similar to the one Scotty wears in ST Beyond. The Franklin is supposed to be from post-ENT, pre-Kelvin, so it fits?

Based on the uniform redesign (Pike & crew had updated TOS-style uniforms in Discovery, but they look more like an update to the Pike/ "Where No Man" era for this show), not to mention Spock's hairstyle, I was already assuming that SNW takes place before Discovery. (WIth "Q&A" having anachronistic uniforms just because that's what they had when they filmed it...)

I assume the show takes place after discovery, where pike has to take a break to process what happened in discovery with the time crystal. Robert April brings him back to the fleet and he rejoins enterprise as captain. From the trailers that seems to be the only logical timeframe?

We know Khan survived too... Spock shouldn't know who he is in "Space Seed" because if he does, it breaks canon. When Pike’s Enterprise shows up on Star Trek: Discovery in its second season, the year is 2258. SNW takes place six months later, after the Enterprise has seemingly had another refit in spacedock. This places the show seven years before we meet Kirk and Spock in the TOS pilot “Where No Man Has Gone Before,” which takes place in 2265.
