This is probably the same year I saw Mr Stewart at the Sydney Opera House for a Star Trek convention! Good memories

You must have seen him at another convention. Unfortunately, Patrick Stewart didn't make the Sydney convention that year, which was held at the Sydney Convention Centre at Darling Harbour. He was meant to be there but a last minute change of plans meant that he had to cancel. It was the only Star Trek convention I was ever able to attend. Gates McFadden and Walter Koenig were in attendance and they showed the first three episodes of Voyager on the auditorium's big screen.

The baffling thing is that Hey Hey It's Saturday episodes went for 2 hours and yet they only allocated 6 minutes to talk to Patrick Stewart. Insanity.

Hey Hey didn't make the call. Patrick or his people decided how long his segment would be. He was on a promotional tour for Generations and the travel schedule was crushingly rushed. He had to be back on a plane that evening and even had to cancel his Sydney Star Trek convention appearance, which would have been at least an hour long, due to schedule changes.

Maybe it wasn’t Hey Hey’s call how long the interview went for?
