People had a sense of humour and weren’t arrogant or sensitive snobs in the 80s and 90s Australia. Gen x and millennials watched ‘Hey Hey’ every Sat with their parents and had a good laugh together.

John Blackman brilliant, talented, and very funny. He was so quick with the jokes and sketches. What he went through with his cancer would have been gruelling, but he handled it with dignity and his amazing sense of humour. You will be greatly missed, John. RIP 😢❤

Crystal was the original person who used to hold up Dickie Knee via his stick. Loved the antics that Crystal would get up to with Daryl, Jacki, John, Gavin, Molly, etc. But it was John Blackman who actually did Dickie's voice, along with the voices of Dickie's other family members that made a few brief appearances on the show as well. John did the voices of several other great reoccurring characters as well, like Mrs. Mac, the angel and so on.

Hay Hay had it's moments but it was funny and slightly embarrassing to see how guests from OS reacted when they realized just how hokey it was. These two clearly got it but there were others who sat there like stunned mullets for the duration of Red Faces.
