Notice that Data becomes fixated on Scotty as soon as he notices Scotty walking in. None of the other officers give Scott a second glance. They're all aware a Starfleet legend has just strolled in, yet pay him no mind, save for Data. It's true Data is infatuated with humans and humanity, so needless to say he's infatuated with historic icons. Dead, or waltzing into a bar after being presumed dead for 70+ years. Yet when he befriends the lonely Scotty, he doesn't grill him about his past, or even ask a single question. Just pours him a real drink and tells him about the holodeck. Data was a better human than he or most people realized.

It's small, but a brilliantly acted and written moment, as well as being a callback to the OG series. Spiner's facial expressions as Data are incredible -- you can literally see him trying but failing to determine what the drink is and the "android logic calculations" as he defaults to the one piece of information he can state with accuracy: its color. God, this show was unbeatable. Only _The Simpsons_ could surpass it in terms of quality 90's television, in my humble opinion.
