Music is absolutely everything to setting the tone of a scene and should never be overlooked. Watch this again muted - it has zero gravitas. Its like Lester Burnham's monologue at the end of American Beauty, when you watch it muted you feel nothing. With the music score, it changes everything. Music done right can really grip a viewer in a scene.

The Federation has faced off against many other species at this point with almost all of them ending in peace. The Klingons and also the Romulans to a degree. They all ended with some type of peace.
