The only thing I can think of, aren't ST ships suppose to have weapon ranges in the order of tens to hundred of thousands of km? And an M/A explosion from a torpedo would easily obliterate even a titan. A Doomsday device in EvE is rated at about 25 kilotons of TNT, a photon torpedo has a yeld of ~40 low end to 500 Mt high end (TNG era). I don't think eve ships would even dent the shields of a ST ship, designed to withstand at least one impact fom a M/A torpedo.

EVE vs Star trek would be interesting dynamic. EVE ships would probably use ambush tactics while the Federation would be forced to alter their tactics and tech, perhaps create longer range weapons (maybe even a railgun to accelerate torpedoes so they can hit farther targets, or a torpedo that can warp).
@kevin92185 ай бұрын

@ilejovcevski795 ай бұрын
Phasers do have ranges measured in 10s and 100s of thousands of kilometers, though the damage output may not be the same, while torpedoes could easily triple that range if not more, but traveling at slower speeds of course. Unless launched in warp. And yes, ships in trek have engaged in warp, both in TOS and post TNG.

It's an absolutely one sided fight but, a battle between the Earth Federation (Star Trek) and the Earth Federation (Gundam) would itch a part of my brain that can not be reached as it stands today.
@entropy115 ай бұрын
How would trek tech deal with minovsky particle interference I wonder. Probably not well.
@addisonchow97985 ай бұрын
@@AstroRayGun Gundam loses very hard if the UFP simply decided to go for the jugular and throw a genesis device at earth. An in character interaction would probably be Gundam acquired warp drive from Ferengi and the post scarcity technology would snuff out some conflicts in Gundam and make it more peaceful while the people profiting off of war would eventually lose their influence due to star trek tech superiority. Mobile suits would be obsolete and phased out. The citizens looking at the living conditions of the UFP would lead to Gundam joining the UFP as the citizens are probably aware the number of wars their government has caused.
@The-Singularity-X015 ай бұрын
@@addisonchow9798 I'm not so sure about the Mobile Suit's being phased out. Recall that in pretty much every Gundam timeline, the introduction/mass adoption of MS rewrote the rules of war. Normal weaponry was for the most part ineffective against them for several reasons. On top of that MS could use weapons you could only mount on 'traditional' super-heavy vehicles or large vessels. In the UC timeline of Gundam, the titular Gundam was the very definition of a 'wonder weapon'. Not only was it essentially immune to the weapons present on the battlefield at the time of its initial deployment, but its Beam Rifle was a horrifyingly devastating weapon. One clean shot was all it took to obliterate a Zeon MS, regardless of the particular model. And the same usually happened when it fired upon enemy vessels. As for the Earth Sphere joining the UFP, I don't think that'd happen. Quite frankly the idea is stupid for several reasons, but the biggest is simple: Independence and self-determination.
@The-Singularity-X015 ай бұрын
@@entropy11 Oh definitely not, in fact it'd really fuck with the sensors and communication systems. But that wouldn't last too long when it comes to Federation Ships. Their shielding however might find it rather hard to deal with U.C. beam weapons.
@keyboardt82765 ай бұрын

I want to see the Andromeda Ascendant versus a Nighthawk command ship from EVE. Two ultra tanky battlecruisers spewing ungodly numbers of missiles at each other. The nighthawk has shields but the Andromeda has strong point defense and nanotech regenerating armor. Neither ship is especially maneuverable or especially slow in comparison.
@MehrumesDagon5 ай бұрын
It is often forgotten but andromeda also has some sort of energy shields. Not as strong as Caldari Command ship to be sure - given how writers only periodically remembered they were a thing, but they are mentioned at the very start (where they need some replacement parts for ship to not be shredded by some sort of space particle storm), and Magellan turns off it's glow just before being hit by a missile aimed for disable, which in result blows up whole ship. It is then summed up that Magallan "must have turned off it's defences".
