I'd never heard that one...good movie trivia....😊😊😊....I'm sure 'scotty' in star trek was present or in the military at D-Day....off the top of my head of course...and whilst we are talking movie trivia, I watched 'Blazing saddles ' last night and I was reminded of the joke about the bad guys name...Hedley Lamar...where as Hedey Lamar, actress was actually something of an inventor?, or certainly got stuck into development work on various projects, ww2 , the acoustic torpedo was something she was involved with....of course of the top of my head stuff again....more research and beer required 😊😅😅😅cheers Steve m8

@steelhelmetstan7305 You got that right: “Scotty,” James Doohan was a lieutenant in the Canadian Army and in “Operation Overlord.” Just before World War II, along with George Antheil, Hedy Lamarr co-invented a radio guidance system for Allied torpedoes that used spread spectrum and frequency hopping technology to defeat the threat of radio jamming by the Axis powers.

That is not called "created". That is called just a luck for right place at the right time. As even without Lucy show, Rodenberry would had his idea, but no that change to get it made (maybe other, but we don't know that). Did Lucille husband give a stepping stone to get Star Trek created? Sure... But that is just a "nudge" to get it produced.

Yep. 100% spot on and will said. I’ve a real soft spot for Lucy. Sorry about the rose tinted glasses. Much appreciate the comment and input. Cheers and thank you 👍👍👍
